*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

I can't remember if someone here posted it or if I saw it in an article someone linked but I'm glad they're gonna have an API that people can use in apps for Air View, hopefully some browsers start supporting "mouse overs" when using it, it's the only thing I really miss when browsing on my phone.

I can't remember where but in the last couple of days I'm sure I've seen something about mouse overs being included either on a phone within a browser or as part of klp, I can't do any better than that though.

Not seen that before and yes the S4 does look to have a very good camera.

Glad you said that as I wouldn't want to post old redundant links or put my "name" to an opinion on photo's without being damn sure and I wasn't then as I say just a glance glad you concur.

Have these Russian pics been posted yet S4 and others S3 ip5 and Ho, IMHO the S4 is best at first glance.

The S4 is excellent there.

I think it's S4 > iPhone 5 > S3 > HTC One

The HTC is some way behind, there has been an update for it though which seems to improve the camera. Comparatively though the outdoors shots it takes there are absolutely woeful.

I always thought there would be a marked camera improvement on the S4 as Samsung have been doing a good job with the hardware recently.

GS 4 wins in some shots, iphone 5 wins in some shots and the htc one wins in some shots and then some look more or less the same (when not zooming in)

All look great.

Although why didn't he post iphone 5 and htc one photos in the low light/night conditions......

Exactly how I called it, we can presume the shots were done before the "Ho fix" though tbh from what I've seen the fix would possibly pull the Ho up to parity with the S3, maybe, he said tentatively.

Agreed and I did a second look after Nexus's post, I am presuming these were pre fix but as I said I'm not convinced by the fix, to be clear I have no bias the unseen Google X is my front runner nudging ahead of the S4 based on nowt whereas the S4 is becoming less tenuous by the day so Google best not drop any balls because it's becoming very hard to pass up the SGS4.

imo, it does (compared to the GS 4), I go by the picture overall, not just detail, zoom in capability but for colours, detail captured in object and noise levels etc. Some of the GS 4 photos are too vibrant where as the one seems closer to "real life" colours, impossible to say since we weren't there but that is how it looks to me especially when viewing the painting picture.

I think these shots are where the one performs better by a decent amount compared to the GS4

Not to mention the low lit/night shots which the one would have probably won by quite a bit.....

Where as shots that the GS 4 looks far better in are:

Doesn't really matter though, as will never get an honest opinion out of most people on this forum especially in this particular thread :p :)

If you lot think it looks "awful" then that is your "opinion" but imo it isn't, if I didn't think it was good then I would have no problems saying that just like I have for other comparisons where the one does look crap.

Also, what's not to be convinced by? It is pretty clear that the software update or whatever has fixed/improved the images from the link I posted in the one thread  If you aren't convinced about that then you must be blind :p

Dunno I disagree with lots of those Nexus, to me the One looks too dim on lots of them, almost like it has a dark blue hue over them. They all seem to be taken on a sunny day so I think the S4 has better colours.

Also when you zoom in on lots of them that's when the One's flaws really come into focus, so much noise, blurriness and pixelation.

A sunny day.......hmm snow, white clouds.....

:p

And yes, once again, of course if you zoom in any phone with more MP will look better.

And the software fix has significantly improved the one when zooming in/cropping:

nexus.... u mad

Not at all.

Just tired of having pointless discussions with fanboys :)

Either way, no point continuing to discuss what "I think" as clearly we will never agree.

Nexus that is one site which I have never heard of... I would wait for some more details and sources to come through before you jump the gun with this fix. Also to be honest most of the "before software fix" photos on that site look like MUCH worse then any One shots I've seen in any of the reviews. They look terrible. :/

To show what I mean more anyway:

HTC One:

Samsung S4:

I think it's pretty obvious that the One camera is just average and isn't the focus of the phone itself and anyone buying it won't be buying it with the camera in mind. Let's face it, those samples from the one are ****.

The images speak for themselves.

Don't worry, not you ;)

Can't be me as I happily use an LG-Google now and plan to get a Motorola Google next, loved my Note though, thought the Ace was adequate and the Apollo never won any fans, ever, prior to that I was equal SE or Nokia and had vowed never to buy LG again after the forgotten disastrous flip thing that was given away on three when they arrived and neatly killed the networks reputation it was so carp, I'll just buy whatever seems BEST for me

@m4rk84

I have heard of that site and used it before, they are pretty good and given that they do pretty good reviews, I think there is a good chance what they said is true.

Plus not only that but digital versus said the same thing with their new one, although they didn't mention a software fix or anything, just a replacement:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=23989439&postcount=1674

Either way, there is clearly something wrong with the htc one, be it hardware and/or software since every review site seems to be getting variable results:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39085880&postcount=2205

i.e. take technobuffalo results

http://www.technobuffalo.com/2013/03/12/htc-one-vs-latest-smartphones-camera-comparison/

and then compare them to gsmarena's results for example

And plus HTC have confirmed about the ISO bug, which makes a huge difference.
