*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Having played with a HTC ONE I must admit the phones gorgeous in person and the pictures really don't do it justice, feels extremely high class and well made. It will be coming out in a slate colour too.

Really stuck between the Xperia Z, HTC ONE and Galaxy S4....all great phones in there own way but don't know what features i prefer the most.

Any word on the S4's processor yet? Samsungs new little big octo core design per chance?

I don't quite understand people saying this, unless I've missed something.

The pics I can find of the S4 and S3 next to each other show the S4 is bigger, the engadget preview video has them side by side and the S4 is obviously bigger :/

I know the S4 is thinner, but can't find the specs that say it's smaller overall.

That's why I asked, I wasn't sure. I was just going by some of the comments posted in here. In the pics posted yesterday where it had the leaked S4 next to the S3, it looked huge in comparison.

Other way round ;)

Not according to anandtech.

They suggest it makes sense given how much power A15 cores use.

Will be interesting to see if 1.2ghz A15 is better than 1.7ghz Krait.

The Exynos 5 Octa side is a bit more interesting. Samsung is calling the SoC a 1.6GHz Octa-core part, but that appears to be the clock speed for the four Cortex A7 cores. The four Cortex A15 cores will run at up to 1.2GHz, which should help keep power consumption manageable. We’ve been wondering for a while what clock speeds we’d see the Cortex A15s run at in smartphones, and I believe this is the first line drawn in the sand. If we go back to Samsung’s ISSCC disclosure of Exynos 5 Octa power consumption, it looks like peak CPU power consumption should be somewhere around 2W - definitely better than what we saw from Exynos 5 Dual in the Nexus 10. Again, no surprises here given that we’re talking about a smartphone - it’s just interesting to see.

I see that a lot of people are happier with s4 launch than they were with s3... Then again it was hard to beat s2 Lol.

Buy the 32GB version and a 64GB SD card, 96GB of memory then dude.

I have about 120GB of music. However if 32GB + 64GB is the max available its not the end of the world, I'm sure I will manage! As long as they don't make it vodafone only like the S3 32GB. Will probably be looking to buy sim free as I work in shipping and can go weeks without signal when at sea so no point paying for a contract.

All those complaining saying the S3 is at the absolute limit in terms of size have nothing to complain about then. I have to admit I'm surprised they have managed to keep it that size, if I had an S3 I'd definitely be wanting this but there's nothing that really tempts be over from the Note 2. I just hope we get a 6" Note 3 in the same (or smaller) dimensions as the Note 2! :D

I know you edited but anyway....

S4 Dimensions: 136.6 x 69.8 x 79mm, 130g
S3 Dimensions: 136.6 x 70.6 x 86 mm, 133 g

So same height but a millimeter less wide, 7mm thinner and 3 grams lighter

so the S4 is 79mm thick? I think not. :p

Seems like a fairly underwhelming announcement really. From what little I've read it seems most of the fuss made was about the software, which mostly seems rather gimmicky as usual and won't even be useful when you lot flash custom ROMs anyway.

A few people have mentioned dual SIM as a feature.

Where does the second SIM go? (don't point to the micro SD slot)
