*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Well pretty much as we all expected really, I'm not getting one.

Incremental upgrade, yes I like the screen to case ratio and I think in terms of functional design its brilliant ( I'm not talking about how it looks before I get leapt upon ) but its a pointless move for me, not so much a sideways step as a slightly wobbly diagonal one.

I've not read all posts so its possible someone has mentioned it....

But isnt this what happened last year with the S3? It was a so so launch and people were saying it wasnt a big step up from the S2, looked horrible, and they weren't going to upgrade. Then once the phone hit the street and people got a hands on then a LOT of people were then saying they were going to get one.

Again Ive not read the whole specs (was at work), but from what Ive seen the S4 sounds like an awesome phone. Its very similar to the S3 in looks but underneath it does pack some power. Im happy with my S3 but I will be getting one of these in a few months. The devs will make this even better.

Looks ok to me, definitely an minor upgrade over the S3, getting a bit on the large side though. If I didn't have a Nexus 4 I would probably be going with the HTC One though.

It's definitely SGS 3.5 but what I'm really disappointed about this that they're just chasing the megapixels again for the camera. I'd rather they leave it at 8Mpix but increase low light sensitivity and have better optical stabilisation etc.
Gonna be hard seeing as they shaved a millimetre off the depth to try and match the iDrone 5 of course.

There are loads of people on here who have stated they are getting one but the people who have negative stuff to say will always make more noise. In comparison to the S3 its had a very warm reception and the technological jump from S3-S4 is nowhere near as pronounced as S2-S3 was.
Go figure... people on here sure have a hardon for square phones...

Its looks fine, screen is awesome, feature rich...the last i am not sure it is an advantage because devs will have a hard time making all those features work in custom roms.

It does look good though

when i saw s3's specs i said i wont be upgrading from my s2 as it isn't worth and as a joke i said ill get an s4 or something that wins that time.. here i am still with my s2 in hands and s4 will be my next phone(not 100 sure yet)

Yeah how dare they! Samsung complete failure. I was hoping for a 4K screen on 4.5" with full 3D without glasses and the capability to roll it up and put it in my pocket. Play all the latest console games and when i watch porn through it i want the porn star to reach out from the screen and give me a hand job

Seriously, what the hell do you guys want?!?!? One of you guys even complained that the curves had been lessened from the S3, which was a major complaint about the S3, i remember everyone wanting it to have straighter edges like the S2. I swear some people just hate for the sake of it

the only thing that impressed me tbh and the screen. Rest is total meh!

I think the design is slightly better as well, but there's not much in it. The size of it being smaller is very good, I'm impressed what they've done with that, as I'm sure most people are.

I'll need to see this screen next to an S3 to see if the 1080p is worth it - I suspect it probably is but I guess it depends on your perspective.

The last thing is the battery, it could provide some Note-esque battery life, in which case that will be pretty awesome.

I don't think the camera will be a massive improvement on the current top 8MP ones, but we need a detailed test to see that. The samples look fairly decent so far. Same for video.

95% of the (utterly horrendous) presentation was centered around the TouchWiz features that I don't think all that many people will use. They're party tricks more than anything. The 'dual camera' photo thing looks stupid - it doesn't create the type of effect they're going for at all, and would only be used rarely by most people. It's not a feature you should be leading with; certainly over something like being able to use the screen with gloves on!!

Then you have to remember this is Android, so a lot of the functionality (not all) they're discussing is already available/will be available if it's actually good.

Overall I think it's an impressive phone but it's not quite as far ahead of the HTC One and Xperia Z as I thought it might be, but there's no doubt it's the best Android phone out there at the moment, or at least it should be if it performs as expected.

Not sure how desperate I am for one at the moment though, I'll see how the reviews and user feedback stacks up to start with. I don't think the jump is as big as S2 > S3, whether you think it's a Galaxy S3'S' is down to your expectations. At this point in time I think expecting anything more than Samsung delivered was unrealistic.

The tech sites who have actually tested it seem to like it, but find it underwhelming - a GS3'S' - at the same time, which I think is understandable. Though the difference is slightly bigger than Apple's 'S phone' differences usually are so it's perhaps a bit unfair, but the point remains.

Not impressed by the design, but was expecting the Samsung plastic anyhow. At the end of the day the phone will sell loads because once again no-one has managed to (as of yet) get the features right, i.e RGB led, removable batt, sd card support. I am dying to dump my S3 because I can't stand how it feels, despite the fact that it runs Cyanogen so well. Now I am not sure what to do.

I'm very happy with what I've seen and will be getting one. Just have to decide on the colour. :p

Do we have a date for when they go on sale?

Whoa! easy tiger, it is what it is no need to get your panties in a bunch.

I like it, prefer the shape no doubt, screen could be lush, other than that and the camera there's nothing I gain.

Ive got 2gb of ram, my cpu isnt going to be suffering on software any time soon.

How could it have really wowed me ?

64gb/128gb models as standard, mini / micro hdmi not this mhl tosh, capacitive home key giving a sleeker facia, better design of the camera, I hated it on the htc one x and it looks no better here, water resistant, lets face it without going silly theres a lot Samsung could have done but didnt.
