*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

Amazing how they managed to make it roughly the same size, but a bit thinner!

As usual, the features add a lot to device. I suspect if this was stock android I doubt it will would as special as what it was presented as. Sure, half the features may be considered as gimmicks, but the other half will be useful to a variety of people.

I'll need to change phone at some point by mid year anyway (to get 4G) so I have a decision to make, keep hold of the N2 and it will lose more value over the months or sell on earlier and upgrade to a 4G supported phone.

Hmm...

I don't get the hate, what were people expecting Samsung to release?! It's got a better screen, battery and processor and some software tweaks...that's probably the limit of the tech available right now?
It's only a year since the GS3, what tech has come out that people needed in this phone that would be affordable? I'm genuinely interested?
Sure if you have a GS3 you prob won't need to upgrade but then that goes for the iphones and HTC phones as well surely?

I'm very happy with what I've seen and will be getting one. Just have to decide on the colour. :p

Do we have a date for when they go on sale?

No date, just end of April.

Get the blue/darker one of course.

Whoa! easy tiger, it is what it is no need to get your panties in a bunch.

I like it, prefer the shape no doubt, screen could be lush, other than that and the camera there's nothing I gain.

Ive got 2gb of ram, my cpu isnt going to be suffering on software any time soon.

How could it have really wowed me ?

64gb/128gb models as standard, mini / micro hdmi not this mhl tosh, capacitive home key giving a sleeker facia, better design of the camera, I hated it on the htc one x and it looks no better here, water resistant, lets face it without going silly theres a lot Samsung could have done but didnt.

YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO NOT LIKE IT!!! YOU MUST BE IMPRESSED!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

There's not really any 'hate', but all we've been getting for a while now is incremental spec bumps. The biggest visual changes they can make are with the design and HTC did that at least.

Sorry, what? SII to SIII was an "incremental" speed bump? It was 2x faster overall. SGSIV is also around 2x faster than the SGSIII. How is that "incremental"?

No, I mean in most cases, not the S2 > S3 so much. I don't think it's twice as fast though. It may be on paper but I very much doubt it.

What may sound amazing on paper doesn't translate into real use I find.

I commented the curves had been lessened - I like a phone that is comfortable to hold and hated the s2's design. square phones don't do it for me at all. the fact most people here care more about how the phone looks sat on their desk rather than how it is to use baffles me.

*edit* this was meant to be quoting robg 's post - not a random moan ^^

Its all well and good saying " but its got an X quicker cpu " but whilst the likes of the S2 are still happily running the vast majority of available software whats the point.

Not so much how it looks, but how it feels. The likes of the iPhone 5 and HTC One have an unmistakable premium quality, the Samsung phones generally don't. If you don't care about premium quality then lucky you, but some people do. I'm sort of on the middle ground, I'd like it but I don't have to have it.

.... and the thousands tearing their hair out waiting for the courier to deliver. :p:D

Are you joining the queue?

If it all performs as expected then quite possibly, yes!

Sod it I think I'm going to get one, just checked 3's website and they're rolling out 4G in the Spring. Recycling sites are offering £240 to £260 right now for the Note II but I'll probably sell it via classifieds for a bit more.

Thats the spirit ;)

My N2 will go to recycling - less hassle :D
