*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

Really debating if I should get the S6 or not. Miss Android, but I'm pretty much in love with touchId, Samsung are the only ones close, and now with the Material theme it doesn't look so ugly either. Wish the Nexus 6 was really a Nexus 5 2015 :(.

How laggy do you guys find it, I played with my mates a bit, it would hang a tad here and there but it could be his weird set up.

Honestly can't say i've noticed any lag on mine.

Depending on which device you're coming from the battery life may be an issue.
The Note 5 isn't far off, so it might be worth waiting for if money is not an issue. If money is an issue, the S6 can now be had for just slightly north of 400, which is very good (compared to its starting price!)

Does no one find it somewhat wrong that you need to use apps like Package Disabler to get arguably the most 'premium' Android phone on the market right now to exhibit a reasonable battery life?

I'd say everyone finds it wrong. I purchased the device knowing that the battery life wouldn't be one of its strong points.

No, I got a Z3 after being thoroughly disappointed with the S6 at release, just interests me after all the justification for the crazy prices about it being premium etc. that people are seemingly happy to accept having to run app disablers just to get a half decent battery life from it

How you getting on with the jetech glass mate? I'm thinking of buying one instead of the olixiter one I have on order.

Seems good so far, I had to take a glass off has it had lifted at edges no sign of that at the moment.

No alcohol wipe in the box to clean screen though.

Your not meant to use the alcohol wipe. It ruins the Oleophobic coating on the glass (on any phone) . So be careful

I came from Z3 to the S6. Battery life on S6 definitely not as good as Z3, but S6 is a far, far better phone. Would never go back to the Z3. This is just my opinion. Other opinions are available.

So I left my phone to run overnight without charging for the first time it used around 8% with WiFi etc on. I've seen a lot worse. Anyway here is a another comparison without the app last week

And yesterday/today's results

Phone radio is still too high for my liking though. But the app has changed it for the better dramatically, more standby time, more screen on time and more app usage.

I came from an S4 and the Z3 has been a revelation in how good Android could actually be, the S6 was just S4/S5+, more Mhz more screen etc. but nothing that excited me.

As you say, different strokes :p

My number one priority for a phone is camera (I have a DSLR for really important stuff, but want phone to have the best camera possible).
On paper, the Z3 should have been a great snapper, but the software really let it down. The S6 is a league above in terms of user experience and software processing.
I really wanted more from the Z3, but for me, it didn't deliver.

I also had the S4 btw (oh, and the Z2)!

I've just received a S6, first impression is positive. Package Disabler is great, turned off all the Samsung stuff I don't want or will ever use.

Quality bit of kit.
