I would have bought the Silver from the USA if only Samsung had worldwide warranty :(
But they could also be region locked..

Samsung phones running Android 4.3 or later, including the Note 3 and Note 4, Galaxy S5 and S5 mini,
feature a region lock that the phone maker applies with the intent of halting grey market imports. This is separate from carrier- or SIM locking

Damn, didn't even know about that. All this would have been fine if only they released the Silver in the UK. Oh well.
A mobile phone being region locked Is stupid..

As it means you cannot use your £500+ mobile phone if you go on holiday abroad and buy a local pay as go sim card to use while there...

Just properly read the link and not quite - by making a 5 min call in your original country, that removes the lock. Or Samsung can remove it at their support centre.

It's only eg. you buy it here, don't use it AT ALL, then go to the USA and insert a local sim, then it won't work.

i thought they are only locked until you make a 5 min call in the region its bought from.
