**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Ah, forgot about Knox.
Think I'll leave it. I installed Cerberus and has extra features on rooted devices, nut not really worth compromising the warranty.

Hadn't rebooted my S7 for 10 days and did so this morning and I got the "Software update" dialogue. Clicked the OK button and then ... nothing

Mrk - I read one of your posts here saying AoD had been improved in beta N. You mentioned that you can now click a notification and it would take you straight to the app - unlike the nothing under android 6. Was this part of N now as opposed to being just an app. When I got my S7 AoD had to updated from settings.

Shame AoD hasn't been made more useful as per the Moto X range. Samsungs version isn't bad but it's pretty lame compared to Motos. It's probably the one thing I miss.

One thing I don't miss is when you got a txt or a notification on the moto x the screen would turn on. I don't always have my phone locked using smart lock. Sometimes the movement in my pocket was enough to unlock the phone, butt dial someone and proceed to go through the recents list opening every app  Samsung settings have a 'keep locked when in pocket' which works very well.

I just need to get out the habit of swiping up when there is a notification on the lock screen. Having done it for 3 years on moto phones or so it is a hard habit to kick.

Here it is:

All 214.19MB of it.

I knew it wouldn't be 7.1

I found it very naïve that people took that for granted because some unknown employee said that would be the case on the beta community app.

Has anyone deregistered from the beta now its finished or are you still registered?

Does it even make a difference?

I de-registered half way through and tried to register again but no luck, don't think Samsung will consider us "beta" testers :(

Had the notification but it's not letting me download it at the moment. Some of the wording of the release notification was a bit....odd.... so suspect that it might need some time.

Can't see how it's a dodgy screen as pitch black is black everywhere else! I'll send it away when I get an S8 :p

Yeah it's strange, which is why I assumed it may be a software glitch. Have you tried a factory reset yet?

Haha, so the next phone has already been decided! :p

Factory resetting is such a faff though! I'll do it when I get the S8 (:P) and of it's still not full black, then send it off for a screen replacement.

Yes indeed, S8 has been decided unless the SD835 handsets see light of day in the summer.
