**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Anyone have any ideas why my S7 might be overheating? Second time in a couple of days I have picked my phone up and it is hot? The phone is not on charge and is just on the desk doing nothing.

Is it constantly searching for a signal ? ..If not could be an app ,check battery usage see if anything is taking up a lot of cpu

still no Nougat on my XEU :(

Wouldn't rush it.

I flashed mine via Odin.

It has some minor improvements but nothing really worth risking the stability of your device.

That said, since I've flashed mine with Odin, I've noticed the following downsides:

* Call quality poorer than before
* Wifi not as stable - often says no internet - yet often there is, sometimes not
* Random freezes - i.e. the Messages app froze the other day for no apparent reason, its not the only example either
* Battery life slightly worse
* Despite the touted improvements to responsiveness, I've noticed no difference

OK it looks a bit nicer, and its nice to be able to double tap the tasks button to switch, but otherwise, I'm a bit underwhelmed given the hype.

Just purchased 2 items for my S7 edge; Ringke Slim case in black, and also a Yosh magnetic car phone holder. I've finally found the perfect phone holder, absolutely no faffing about with this and the magnet strength is spot on.

It looks nice and it's well built. I've gone through several different phone holders over the years, this is the one tbh. You sit in your car and with one hand just stick your phone to it, whichever orientation you like and it isn't moving.

Looks like spigen do one too which looks very similar

Bet the Chinese were all over this !

May try it myself. Like the way the thin part is hidden inside the case

One downside to using the home_csc file is the phone then remains on XEU firmware not BTU which would happen using the csc only file and a complete wipe.

Not had any of those issues. I flashed home_csc so didn't do a reset. I was prepared to either reset or flash again using CSC and do a reset and cache wipe. I have no evidence of before or after battery life but fairly certain I'm getting through an average day with more battery left end of the day. Call quality fine, home WiFi and recent hotel WiFi were fine with no dropped connections. I have had one app freeze and that was Opera beta so to be fair it would most likely be the app than the OS. I don't know if it's faster since nougat but is certainly slick enough. All told I've been very happy with nougat.

If you haven't reset or wiped the cache from recovery then may be worth a try. Sorry I'm probably teaching your granny to suck eggs! There are a few users having issues with N on XDA. My S7 is still on XEU so the recent update pushed out to BTU I didn't get. What the hell Samsung is doing that one unlocked S7 gets nougat in UK and the other doesn't, or at least not yet.

I've downloaded the latest BTU firmware for S7 which includes the latest update to N pushed out. I'll probably flash it at some point unless Samsung push the update to XEU models. Not sure if I'll get it as I've already flashed the BTU firmware - though still XEU :(

No idea why but messed about taking some videos on holiday and my memory card corrupted wounded is an understatment it appears to have removed everything. Is there a way to un corrupt it?
