**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

I think my S8+ is faulty, it's happened since I flashed it but I think it's a coincidence as any firmware I now try the screen isn't working properly.

The buttom 1.5" of the screen can't register long press, so when I press on an icon or hold the keyboard key for the sub symbol it won't do anything it always registers as a press, when scrolling facebook if I use the bottom of the screen it's clicking on everything in my finger rolls over :(

Apparently the digitiser might be going, first phone issue I've had ever.

Have you tried rendering the Facebook app at the original size it was intended? Remember some apps may not work properly when stretched to fit the screen, from my experience it seems Facebook is effected as it's the only app where I get that problem.

I haven't tried it myself as it doesn't happen often enough (basically dont use Facebook enough) but that would be my guess at a potential solution :)

They keyboard on anything was doing it, bottom icons on the screen too, nightmare, went to shop and they said it was fault, o2 gave me a new s8+ straight away! :D

Has anyone with a sim free S8 who is using a three sim card managed to get wifi calling enabled? I can't find the option anywhere. I have been on to 3 but they keep directing me to options which don't exist and then saying my phone must be locked to another network (which it obviously isn't).

Should be under phone app settings at the bottom

Do you need to be on three branded firmware for this to work ? Just a thought.

These seem decent for anyone not wanting to wait all of eternity for a Noreve

Seems like quality products based on the website (not the best thing to go by of course, but I'd certainly take a punt if I hadn't ordered my Noreve)

Need to be breeding Ostrich's for their skins  £185 for a leather phone slip!

The standard leather ones are more affordable I might add.

Really struggle to see the point in a pouch for a phone (unless you keep your phone in a handbag with keys and other nasties inside) but... How much?! :O

Yeah the option doesn't appear there. I think the point about 3 firmware may be correct, can't really be bothered with the hassle of flashing etc though. But of a pain this can't just be enabled on all phones out of the box...

Saves dropping it on the floor if you accidentally let it slip when removing from your pocket

Saves it getting scratched by pocket grit (some people say they have nothing else in their pockets but the phone ends up scratched somehow.. so that should resolve that problem)

I've decided to use my Clear view standing case cover, such a smart looking case and now with the always on display update, the clock is always on the screen.

Unless grit gets in the pouch. Also when you take phone out your pocket you have one hand tied up with the pouch and introduce a chance to fumble and drop the phone that will be bare, onto the floor. Just IMO and not used one.

On the subject of expensive junk I spent £25 on Zagg curved glass screen protector on someone's recommendation. Fella in shop fitted it for me and has gone on pretty well. That is as good as it gets. Touch sensitivity is terrible. Why I took any notice of family member I don't know. It's junk and not cheap junk. When I texted him to tell him he's in for a kicking he told me his had cracked and the so called life time warranty required £10 for zagg to send another. I expect his cracked pressing on the screen. I'm so ashamed to admit buying one and fear I'll be responding to email scams from Nigeria (other countries are available) next  Teach me to not to Google it first.

Could be worse as there was someone on xda the other day moaning cos he'd bought what turned out to be a fake S8 off of an advert on a porn site (there are adverts on porn sites? :D) Worse still he couldn't raise the matter with his credit card cos he sent cash! Personally wasn't sure if it was a wind up but made me laugh

Was at Portland Bill today with some mates, and whilst I used the DSLR a lot, I also used the phone, which got some really nice images, even after sunset.

In terms of issues, I have not had any major issues yet. Just some software bugs that shouldn't really exist, but do... So am hoping Samsung fix them.

1: Ghost haptic feedback for the force touch home button, even when it's lightly tapped. Widespread reports from all over the world on reddit. Exynos/SD doesn't matter. Random phones have tregardless. Turning the screen off then on again fixes it, until it happens again!

2: I left the phone in the car yesterday during a wedding shoot, it was hot and humid, and the phone got rather warm. Upon trying to use the camera, it said the battery temp was too high and the camera would close. Even after the phone had cooled down, the same message came up when loading the camera. Only a reboot fixed it.

Those are the only bugs I have had so far, which is pretty decent to be fair.
