Had my S8 for a month now and not had too much trouble from it. I didn't intend to buy an S8 as was quite happy with my S7 - until the camera lens broke. Wasn't dropped or crushed. Didn't send it to Samsung for repair, but to an online firm claiming fast same day repairs. Well 4 phone calls and 10 days later it turned up back with a new lens in. All good until I took a photo. Terribly soft images no matter what. Was as if the lens was smeared with vasaline. Long story short I got no where with it so traded at Carphone for £220 and bought S8. Very happy with it. Never been a fan of phone cameras until I got the S7 and now not be without one. Have a DSLR, well 3, but can't lug one everywhere.
So the S8. Had issues with phone turning on in my pocket and occasionally 'butt dialing' and opening apps randomly. Would also answer a call either in my pocket or as I pulled it out. I don't know if it's related to the Home button and haptic feedback issue but found by accident it stopped doing it when I switched to using 'high_contrast' (by Samsung) theme instead of the 'Real_Black' theme I had been using. So for now I've had no more trouble turning on in pocket.
When I first got it had a problem with high battery drain. Seemed to be Google Play Services hammering it. Read on XDA where someone had been a Play Services beta tester and withdrew from that, uninstalled Play Services updates and let it update again, but not beta of course and sorted the issue. I'd opted to beta test for some reason a long while ago and forgot about it. Deleted Play Services update and let it update and battery drain settled down nicely. Easy gets me through the day. According to Accubattery the battery is still at 102% capacity after a month of charging to full every night (wirelessly) Hopefully the claim that battery won't lose capacity as fast as previous models may be true. Other evening we were out and could feel phone getting warm in my pocket. Ignored it for a while until it started to get uncomfortably hot. Battery had drained somewhat and had no idea what was causing it. Turned it off until it cooled and been fine since. No idea what that was about.
My phones auto brightness can be slow to respond when display is turned on in very bright conditions making it hard to see who is calling until brightness does ramp up? Anyone have the ame?
Other than that it's a very good phone, if a little expensive (sim free). I have a VRS case fitted for some protection

I've taken the Zagg glass screen protector off and need to get a refund on it. It made most of the screen very hard, if not impossible to use. Family member with same phone said his was fine from that point of view but had cracked. The fit wasn't too bad around the curved glass but really spoiled the feel of the phone. Screen touch response was terrible.
