**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

Anyone had any experience with emails to an Audi? I have a 2016 A4 and unlike my previous phone, Sony Xperia z2 with android v6, it will not notify or display emails on the car MMI system. The Audi phone capability site says that, despite not having the s8 in it's list and the nearest is the s7 edge, it isn't capable however is anyone using another mail product that works?

Started getting a weird issue with my rear camera where its just blurry and doesn't want to auto focus, the only way I can get it to work again is by shaking the phone. Anyone else had this?

Got my 2 pack of Samsung official screen protectors. Fairly impressed. It is rather orange peely when the screen is off but not really noticeable when it is on.

7/10 overall I'd say

Managed to get them for about £6 for the two from Amazon

They are higher than that, they are the only ones I've found that either don't feel sticky or make the display look fuzzy at all. Don't agree about the orange peel effect either.

Biggest thing i've noticed is 6-7 months later it's almost half the SoT.

Having said that, Samsung have said the S8 battery is much more resistant than before, so hopefully this is true.

Yes after time it does massively degrade, fingers crossed Samsung stays true to its word.

Very strange thing. I would put my rating up today by a notch or so!

The orange peel effect seems to have reduced quite a bit in the past 24 hours, very surprising. It is a bit like a Spigen wet install one I had once for the GS6 Edge, they said the bubbles will disappear after a few days. I doubted it and thought that's not possible, but sure enough they did go away (almost all of them).

I just noticed my power button is a bit stiff and not as clicky as the bixby button and the volume up and down buttons. Im nitpicking here but just want to know if this is normal?

Can somone please check theirs?

Edit: Just an update, I managed to fix the problem. I wet a piece of cloth, wraped it around my finger and mashed that power button. It is now clicky again. Lol

AdHell has recently been updated. very good for adblocking in apps (free, uses Knox), and now has built in package disabler. So those who have not purchased PDP, can use this instead at no cost. Disables in exactly the same way using the same method (Knox).

Mine seems exactly the same as the Bixby button.

Is there a screen protector that fits with the Spigen Tough Armour case (Galaxy S8) just got it and I'm a bit wary of using the phone without any screen protection.

I'd be wary of fitting one ;) I've had my S8 over a month and the glass is still clean. I've not dropped it (yet) and am careful to not have anything in my pocket with it. Most glass protectors get mixed reviews. I did try a Zagg but made the display really unresponsive to the touch so getting a refund on that from Vodafone. I had a read on XDA about the Whitestone Dome glass protector and reviews on there are very mixed. Costs £45 :eek::eek: and for that you may as well pay a bit more for insurance?

I'm going to try the Official Samsung one (maybe). I think with the curved edges of the display any screen protector is in danger of spoiling the feel of the phone and mostly what puts me off. I think there is a fortune to me made at this screen protector lark

I've used a Moto G1 for the past 4 years incased in a Otterbox case but no screen protector and the screen is blemish free, i know the G8 has the latest Gorilla glass on it but its pretty much all glass and it only takes one mishap to ruin it.

Just downloading the update here. Unlocked XEU S8.

Navigation bar
. Icons (fix/hide) have been added to the left hand side of the navigation bar, so you can see more of display without navigation concealing it
. The range of available background colours has been changed and, after updating the software, the background colour will be set to the default colour.

-Improved quality of panorama images from camera.

Big update for a lot of not much?
