I've always wanted a Samsung flagship, but always been put off by TouchWiz, the general lag on the platform and the delayed updates.

However each year there's tons of people here that purchase the latest device, should i finally take the leap of faith?

I have a nexus 6p now, it's starting to slow down actually so maybe it's android not so much TouchWiz!

Work phone is iPhone 7 plus whilst a brilliant phone without a doubt just the hardware doesn't get me excited but the software is super optimised

If I remember correctly they aren't calling it touchwiz anymore.

Its now Samsung Experience and is a much simpler looking UI.

That's what I was getting at - are they saying the 29th so that my expectations aren't set, when in reality they're likely to dispatch the handset earlier? I'm not desperate for it, but would like to lock in the recycle value of my existing phone in case it drops. The company I'm looking at guarantees a price for 10 days.

I'm hoping Samsung won't have any issues with their stock for the 20th as I'm about to lock in a price for recycling my phone too that should be guaranteed for 14 days...hopefully no issues all round

I've ordered the clear ringke fusion as I prefer hard back over soft so hopefully it would be good, otherwise can always return it via prime for free of it's bad quality

How much is a brand new s6 worth these days? Sent mine away with an issue with the camera and they've sent me a brand new one back 2 days before my 2 year warranty expired just in time for the s8 to replace it

Yes Ive already got that secured but that would be the same for a marked 2 year old phone, hoping a perfect condition basically new one will be more valuable !

Where do you recommend recycling it? My iPhone 7 plus 128gb is getting recycled for 540. I got a quote of 570 somewhere else but they seemed a bit dodgy. The phone is in as new condition but I'm worried they would lowball the original offer once they receive it.

I would put it on eBay but with the ridiculous fees I'd probably net less for it. I tried facebook marketplace but got sick of people trying to take it for pennies.

Same here, no lag on my S6 or my gf's S7 - I'm convinced people install too much crap

No, no 'crap' , I am not here to put down the s8,I have a different phone which isnt touchwiz and no lags at all. It's probably just to do with SwiftKey, however a popular different android phone I have doesn't have that problem at all. Still - the s8 is a nice phone.

Yes finally! Got referred to Vodafone then had a message to call them which was because they needed to verify my existing Vodafone account (which I'd provided details of when I ordered), went back to referred then verifying and now awaiting handset very helpful via both email and phone though
