**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

Those who ordered from smartphonecompany on the voda 30gb deal, how long did your track order stay on 'awaiting decision from carrier'? Mine still hasn't gone through yet and i thought it'd be pretty quick.

Mine's still waiting. I think it's been 3 days now.

That's good to know it's not just me lol. Frustrating though as I want to ring three and pay my contract off.

Has anyone got any idea if it will be worth waiting till the pre orders are over to get a better deal with the networks or wont it make much difference?

Apparently Vodafone now have run out of stock and any S8 orders will not arrive for the 20th. That is both colours but the S8+ is still apparently in good stock.

I hope that only applies to new orders and that orders placed before today are not affected.

I don't think it's likely that the price will go up, but since preorders are apparently strong it may be a little while till the prices drop. All speculation, of course.

Ordered 3rd... I believe it changed later that week (exact date is in this thread somewhere, two or three pages back). Currently on awaiting handset for dispatch or something similar.

If you put it face down in your pocket in the spigen tough armor, after watching how durable the screen is on these I think it would be fine but then again you will know best. Perhaps have two cases, one for work and another for weekends ;)

Thanks for the recommendations I'll see how I get on and possibly treat myself to two cases.

Well i have a decent sim only deal, so i will be waiting until the s8 is reasonably priced sim free before purchasing ;)

No way would i sign a two year contract paying 50 odd quid a month for a phone. Crazy.

Well i think us that signed up to the voda deal have had a really good deal.

Galaxy S8+ = £779 retail

Voda 30gb data / unlimited txt + calls plus free spotify for 24 months worth 9.99 + £96 cashback = equivelent of £34 / month

£34x24 = £816

Therefore, our contract is costing £37 for 2 years, i bet your sim only deal is more than £1.54/month ;)

Was that today or yesterday?

Wow these new deals - if you can even call them that are shocking lol, guess it takes away any temptation to upgrade.

It was before today, they were changing ever so slightly, the best one if you didn't use spotify was probably this one:

S8+ free handset
£42 a month (£39 after cashback)
24gb/unlimited calls/unlimited txt
£30 quidco cashback

I'm waiting for under £35 a month...

I've always wanted a Samsung flagship, but always been put off by TouchWiz, the general lag on the platform and the delayed updates.

However each year there's tons of people here that purchase the latest device, should i finally take the leap of faith?

I have a nexus 6p now, it's starting to slow down actually so maybe it's android not so much TouchWiz!

Work phone is iPhone 7 plus whilst a brilliant phone without a doubt just the hardware doesn't get me excited but the software is super optimised

tbh if you aren't in a rush, I would wait for HTC 11 / Note 8. HTC 11 sounds promising, 8gb ram, SD835
