**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

ewwwwwww my spigen case turned up - what is this monstrosity!!!
sure the description said black - its all clear with just a black line around it lol.

oh well, my cheapo emergency case it shall be :)

Lol... did you not look at the picture? It's the slim armor/tough armor ones that aren't transparent.

Also, what's that lag people are talking about? I'm still on Note 4 and don't have lag typing... don't remember seeing one when trying the s8 either. The only slowdowns I get is when the old trusty SD805 is giving up with too many things running in the background and videos in browsers sometimes - nothing to do with touch wiz.. I think that whole argument is just as valid as "nvidia has better gpu drivers" or "iPhones are easier to use".

Perhaps it's an Error 40 case..

I used to get lag on typing on the Note 7 sometimes ; I get it on my note 3.

I definitely notice it

Did you not look at the picture? I mean, it's right there on the page. You literally have to scroll past it to order it.

I have, and it doesn't change anything. Slow is slow - regardless of the animations. Swiftkey is un-useable on the S7 edge due to the lag on typing. Enough that it skips letters consistently.
SwiftKey is well known to randomly attack people with colossal input lag. Change keyboards and profit.

Sounds like error 40, perhaps there is a combination of apps, maybe something running in the background that's causing it. I remember having the antutu CPU monitor running for a while and it used to cause problems. Could even be Wi-Fi network or signal dropping massively for few milliseconds.

And neither iPhone nor Pixel are free of those issues.

There isn't a perfect OS or perfect phone, it's just how the world works nowadays.

Apologies if already mentioned above. My order from Smart Phone Company is showing an expected delivery of 29 April. Is anyone else seeing an earlier projected delivery date?

yes but the company was offering it 8 days earlier I suspect it still stands - only they are no longer offering 8 days early

That's what I was getting at - are they saying the 29th so that my expectations aren't set, when in reality they're likely to dispatch the handset earlier? I'm not desperate for it, but would like to lock in the recycle value of my existing phone in case it drops. The company I'm looking at guarantees a price for 10 days.

It's more than likely you will get on 21st if you ordered within that date - current advertisement would be for new orders, not existing, but feel free to get it confirmed

lol - I did but musta been the angle of the screen on me laptop or somat - doh! - serves me right for making midnight purchases just before bed :)
It'll do as a temp for now.

It's the Neo Hybrid that I usually go for. Either that or the Casemate 'barely there' cases

I used the casemate on my last phone the Z3. Loved it because it covered all the edges and provided all round protection. The one for the S8 though i can see easily clipping off when dropped due to the screen curves.

It doesnt look it will do much good if the device is dropped tho so gunna wait till local shops have them in before taking the plunge
