heads up.

overclockers dont want to know about model numbers etc, if you ordered the samsung that is what will be shipped to you, nice helpful "like walking in to a shop up the town attitude". :)

Would be so much different if i was to walk in to the shop. :)

bless them.

I wouldn't mind paying say an extra £5 - £10 to have someone check orders in the future. Say you wanted a specific stepping CPU Core, or specific revision monitor, etc, etc. I would happily pay a £10 surcharge on top of my order if I knew I'd get the bits I wanted. I guess however, if everyone did that, they'd be left with all the crap parts left over. :p

<snip>

I was so looking forward to sitting staring at one of these and now not so sure... Price going up, non available and not even sure if it would be a Samsung that I got. Well I only work like 2 mins down the road so I guess I will have to pop in to look at the model number on the back when they come into stock again....

That would mean opening the box :/ Don't know if that would fly tbh.

dont be silly thats not going to happen if its not what you want that means its got to be sold as bgrade stock as its been opened i know its not been used

people opening boxes means time which companys dont have well most warehouse staff dont have time to do this

Has anyone heard anything substantial about the 226BA (assuming it actually exists)?

Just to clarify my question, you realise that I'm talking about model, not panel manufacturer.

I believe that the 226BA is the same as the 226BW with the addition of an HDMI input, though I have no evidence other than word of mouth.

Stu, it's NOT a Samsung, but an LG and the name is LG L226WA. I found the answer below on an other thread and it's as follows:

"You can check out the Canadian chain store, (also owned by Best Buy), site at ????????????????? for the differences between the L226WA and the L226WT.

Basically it looks like four inputs for the L226WA model: VGA, Component, DVI-D and HDMI. Supposedly the WA is the 2ms model, and the WT is the 5ms model, and the WA is manufactured in Korea, and the WT is manufactured in China. Do not know if that means different panels or not. Those are the differences listed on the labels on all the boxes that I saw in-store. Looks like there are black and silver versions for both. The DVI-D cable also comes included with the WA model."

In spite of this, I found info about the monitor only on German and Chinese sites when you plug LG L226WA into Google. I think I also saw some scant description on LG's of Philips' site (one of the two). Sorry for the mistake that it was a Samsung.

Just noticed the site mine is coming from says:

SAMSUNG 22'' LCD SYNCMASTER 226BW TCO03, 1680x1050, 2MS, 3000:1

Wonder what TCO03 means

The date was stated as 28-02-07 when i ordered mine and it now simply says Pre-Order.

For those of us that place the order prior does that date still apply or has it now changed to a non existant date for everyone who ordered ?

Not nice to have the money taken from your bank, be told a date which is far away (at the time) and then for that date to vanish and not be sure when they are ever going to send it.

"*** edited out **."

only moaning because id of liekd to sell my previous monitor before getting this to help fund it, although that would leave me without a monitor as its not known when they will even have this... Slight pain :-(

Just a rough date would be good.

My brother is in exactly the same boat as you. Now it just says "Pre-Order", well, what the does that mean now?

Even a confirmation email would be nice. Wouldnt mind if they had not taken my money prior, it wouldnt matter much. But Id like to know where my product is as iv paid for it so its mine.

Wouldnt be hard to keep customers informed a little more. Simple mass email... I got the confirmation of my payment fast enough hehe

Dont mind if there are delays, things happen and it probably isnt OCUK's fault. maybe waiting on stock from samsung etc

But for them to keep us informed would be better.

no competitor talk please.
lol you shouldn't be quoting it either :p

Well now its down to this screen or the Dell 2007WFP for me as i've managed to find the Dell for a very reasonable price. The loss of the extra 2" i guess is the only bad thing about going the Dell route. I was only put off the Dell in the first place because of the price, now that i've found it for much less there isn't really much competition.

But who knows how it'll turn out, i may change my mind ;)

Ah I see you qouted a differnt post, sorry about that.

Anyway any idea on when they will be with us then?

Instead of monitoring the posts and pointing to our mistakes, an answer would suffice :-D

Just phoned OcUK and they were as much use as a chocolate teapot, and still no ETA. Think I will be cancelling my order soon and going elsewhere.
