If its the Oblivion fraps video you may need to install fraps. It might be a good idea as a lot of people thought there Asus 22" monitors were fine until they saw that video.

Nice looking monitor though, if i get refunded for my many dodgy Asus i'll be getting this.

That background looks nice.

Would it be possible to connect an xbox 360 to this monitor? I see it is dvi-d, i take it this wont take a analogue signal from the 360, even though the ocuk website says its analogue :S

Thanks

Nevermind! FOund some pics that show it has vga input aswell :)
What would be the prefered res to run the 360 at on this monitor :)

Hi,

Could anyone tell me please confirm if i was wanting to upgrade the standard DVI cable that comes with the monitor to something better, i would need a DVI to DVI female 2 female cable but...

This monitor is a DVI-D dual link?

My guess is that it is DVI-D dual link from this photo,

Also most graphic cards come with male DVI-I Dual link outputs?

Would this cable do it?

Ixos XHV458-100 DVI to DVI Interconnect - 1m

EDIT, just checked my grahpics card has DVI-I Dual Link so pluging a DVI-D Dual Link male cable in to a DVI-I Dual Link female output should work?

It's just a DVI-I (digital & analog) dual link output from the 7800GT that should work for a input of DVI-D dual link and DVI-I dual link input.

Over clockers have one cable

Really need a better selection tbh. ;)

The cable on overclockers will not work, your card will be DVI-I im assuming. If you bought that cable which is DVI-I--DVI-I, it would plug into the gfx fine but not the monitor because of the 4 pins on the end of the DVI-I--DVI-I. You need a DVI-D--DVI-D cable.

According to that picture both my graphics card and the monitor have DVI-D Dual link connections but the cable I've got is a DVD-D Single link. Is that bad??? Would it look better if I got one with all the pins? (dual)

/edit thats all wrong lol

Thats my card. But my cable is DVI-D Single link

Yeah i was planning and have ordered a DVI-D two DVI-D dual link cable,

Ixos XHV458-300 DVI to DVI Interconnect - 3m

The long flat pin on a DVI-I connector is longer than the same pin on a DVI-D connector, so it is not possible to connect a male DVI-I to a female DVI-D by removing the 4 analog pins.

Well thats your card with DVI-I Dual Link (digital & analog)
and your monitor the 226 will be a DVI-D Dual Link (digital only)

The cable that comes with it i guess is a DVI-D dual link meaning more bandwidth can be sent to the montor.
  • Maximum clock frequency in single link mode: Capped at 165 MHz (3.7 Gbit/s)
  • Maximum clock frequency in dual link mode: Limited only by cable quality (more than 7.4 Gbit/s)

from here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVI

So the cable that comes with it is not going to be worth £52.00 or £70.00 pounds, this is just me being a purist ofcourse, i need the better cable, much like using cat5e connectors on a cat6 cable through a gigabit network where talking minimal percentage loss.

Well thats my opinion. :)

Fairplay. At the moment I have a £40 DVI-D Single link cable. Looks like I might have to lose this cable when I get my new tft then :)

M8 i have had one for a week now and it's brilliant, looks nice, plays dvd's great and no ghosting that i can see :) i was worried about the 22" with the same res as the 20" but i haven't spotted anything wrong with it and for the price i can't complain. :D
Am i the only person with one because you probably need a more in depth review ;) it comes with vga and dvi cable and a little cloth to wipe screen aswell. :p
I have posted some pics but i only have a k800 camera phone.
I will post some r6 vegas pics later. :)
