I used to play Flight Simulator 2004. Is this worth it? For simulators, I am more into racing simulations, but thought this be worth a try

I'd give it a go felton1592. FSX Gold is dirt cheap to buy and although I'm only a novice I'm totally hooked. Never played FS2004 though so can't comment on any differences. I'm only playing on a 360 controller as I'm saving for a nice Saitek yoke and peddles but it's still fun!

Yeah, 360 pad here too. MS Flight was okay, but i'm sure they're different. Something good to try again![]()
Hi, you can safely delete your FSX.cfg file and it will be recreated the next time you start up, albeit with everything reset to defaults.
Not played MS Flight but everyone that's played FS(insert number here) seems to comment on how Flight is not really a "Sim" and seems disappointed. I tried downloading it a few times but it kept crashing when I tried to launch it (the joys of Steam) so I took the hint.
I don't really want to loose a lot of add-on stuff that seems to have made its way into my initial config but I might do that to get a fresh config so I can paste in the last "working" config. Or I might just bite the bullet, buy a bigger SSD and have a dedicated FSX install. Thanks for the advice ringo747
Just incase you didn't know the development of MS Flight has been canned.
Copying and pasting stuff into cfg files can get messy. You shouldn't lose anything from addons. I have deleted it many times and the only thing you might notice is a few popups with a prompt to allow certain gauges for example. Go for it.

I know the guy doing the exam so let's hope we don't make a hash of things and get him in trouble!
