Try it now.

Yes I did, I already had the majority of them in the fsx.cfg

Oh yes I see what you saying.

Unless somebody knows what the fix is here.

I would upload that Vid(if you can) to the Avsim forums. You bound to get some help there.

Edit: what graphic card are you using?

So after a bit of a browse on AVSIM this morning, I came to reading about FSX and DX10.

Is anyone using that combo here?

Shashman, it's not quite as iconic as the silver livery but still a good attempt.

I've tried the Dx10 patch and it does make it a much more stable experience with a small but noticable performance increase. However there are still issues, mainly with grey fs9 AI models and missing airport ground images/textures (some are fixable with addon converter X but it isn't guaranteed). There's also the complete lack of AA which makes things look a tad horrible. I think you can force it on nvidia cards but I've had no luck with my ati 5770.

Overall it is a WIP and a very promising 3rd party patch which I am watching very closely. For some it will be a godsend, but for me the cons still currently outweigh the pros. If the guy behind it can fix the texture issues then I can live with the lack of AA. TBH I'm looking to upgrade sometime in the near future and I might just jump ship to nvidia primarily for the gains in FSX :)

And for me, whilst the new AA livery does look good, I still prefer the old one by a long shot. Its so simple yet so different to your bog standard eurowhite. Not to mention shiny...

Nice pics. I like the 2nd one.

It's slipped my mind but when you install a new fmc airc cycle from navigraph where does it install? At the root folder e.g. G/fsx or G/fsx/aerosoft.

I think I sorted it.

I'm looking to try vatsim, which I've never done before... Got FSX installed again. Can someone give me a run down on what I need?

So far I can see I need either squarkbox or fsinn, which should I use? Is there anything else I need?

edit: managed to get it working with squarkbox, wasn't too painful after all. Question though.. do you have to use voice? i.e. if late at night? I tried to talk to london city tower and he kept copy/pasting to contact him on 118.07 and didnt get any further?

Some awesome photos in here. Always amuses me when you have to double take as at a glance it can look like it's actually real life...

Good pics gents. Keep them coming..

Thanks for that. I'm tempted to try... Note to me: Backup things before you do it..!

That's great you got setup and online.

You can use text or voice but you have to remember, it's a 'simulation' not a game. So VATSIM controllers are expecting you to file a correct flight plan, use the right ATC spiel and fly 'appropriately' on their network.

That's what V and me are offering when we say 'fly with us' that you can learn what we've learnt in a hand-holding environment.

toString glad you tried it. It only gets better. I'm around later and tomorrow(too cold to go out :p)so we can get on and go through a few things. Blue is a pro so hopefully he can get on too.

Wasn't somebody here looking for a new Nvidia Card?

Today's special is a GTX670 OC. I have a 670 and its a great card. I OC mine too.

Excellent price too.
