The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

On another note, does anyone know if FS Global 2010 impacts fps much? I'm getting a solid 25fps with all addons (PMDG, rex, gex, ect ect) so don't wanna really drop from this.

As FS Global is mesh I don't think it will have any impact on framerates. I don't have this installed, but when I've added other custom meshes I've seen no change on my fps.

KatanaDV20, Creaking on an i7?

No its running fine ...I should have clarified what I meant :) I meant "creaking" as in showing its age. Specially that awful 1980s-style leopard print ground texture. Which is why I cant wait for FTX global!

I hope some dev/devs come out with a brand new sim ya know? New engine, new everything :)

*Fingers crossed*

Folks I read the last few pages, and saw menioned things like OrbX and FS Global and what not, whats the best add on for UK textures and airports? Is there an all in one solution?

To be fair to FSX, their ground textures covered the whole world with 4 seasons with dawn, day, dusk and night effects back in 2006.. Give it a little break. ;)

For me, I've gone down the route of a selection of 'UK2000' airports and Just flight VFR scenery. The 'all in one' solution would be FTX Global, but this to reiterate is texture enhancement, not photo scenery. If you're flying 'Visual Flight Rules', following roads and things, then you may need VFR/Photo scenery. It looks great for the money though and would have bought it if not for the above.

Anyone have the same issue as me regarding runway/taxi tarmac glitching constantly (Jumping). I have REX installed, if that helps.

No problems here, but it could be to do with NVidia or ATI control panel settings?

The MD-11 has been reduced in price over at PMDG. I would love it, but have no money left over for fun this month.

So after a bit of a browse on AVSIM this morning, I came to reading about FSX and DX10.

Is anyone using that combo here?

Shashman, it's not quite as iconic as the silver livery but still a good attempt.

Watching the masses of stacks waiting to get into Heathrow this morning has made me want to reinstall FSX and learn how to do patterns in PMDG737 :D

Very good...

Is that the hold at Biggin?

The FMC makes a holding pattern in the iFly straight forward.

You have a point to hold at, eg. 'BIG', and incoming path (303 degrees), a left or right turn (right hand) and an outgoing path (123 degrees).

So you would hit 'hold' in the FMC, enter 'BIG', enter '303 / R' and put that in the 'inbd course' bit. The FMC works out the outbound and that's the basics done.

Thanks for the info :D I kinda assumed it would be pretty easy with an FMC. Well, relatively..

The pic is Lambourne. Bovingdon is a close 2nd on numbers atm.

I've been playing MS Flight since the DLC was discounted in the steam sales :p

Done all the landing challenges (including one in a 60knot headwind?!) so uninstalled it again ;)

Anybody up for some snow flying!

Blue you must be home. It's meltdown over your side inst it?

Oh yes the auto rudder option we disabled, so my joystick is broken. Time for a new one. Not sure which one though.

Might go the Thrustmaster
