The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Please find this weekend's flight plans:- (fsx and plan-g v3 format)

VFR Inverness to Prestwick.plg
VFR Inverness to Prestwick.pln

You'll be virtually delivering supplies in an aircraft of your choice on this SVFR flight. You'll be making your way around north Scotland.

Your hazards will be snow, icing conditions, possible closed runways and variable winds.

I'll be online at 4pm if you want to join me on VATSIM or make your way around in your own time offline. Take plenty of 'pictures'. Feel free to make the return leg from Prestwick to Inverness.

Sounds interesting! Just how much ATC is involved if you're flying VFR? I feel like I need a script or something, and I'm scared to death of saying anything as I know it will be wrong :D

That's what the mumble voice client is for... You just copy what we say... If no ATC is online, one of us will be an unqualified controller to get you on your way...

Excellent, not taken the Caravan out for ages. See you at 4.

Will hopefully have everything all setup for 4pm..

I only have the pmdg 737 as a custom plane, and I don't think I have the confidence to fly it and do ATC. So I'll be using a default FSX plane. Is it acceptable to use GPS and autopilot for the most part? Or is that frowned upon?

Couple of VC shots from my morning flight

Excellent photos..

If you open up UDP ports 6112 - 6122 on your router as picnic has suggested for shared cockpits, we might be able to set up a shared cockpit flight..

Sorry for my completely amateur question, but are those flightplans or something you load in FSX, can you run that flight plan in multiplayer?

You can load the non plg one into the FSX flight planner and it should appear in the GPS unit. Or download Plan-G and connect it to FSX.

Always wanted to give Vatsim a try...just never made the jump due to gaps in my aviation / navigation knowledge.

Was always more comfortable programming an FMC and sitting back an letting the jet do all the work :D

That's what I do. Add a bit of ATC talk and job done.. :D

Is it still the same Mumble details gents??

Yes.

Mumble details are as before somewhere on this forum.
