The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

The guys who are running Opusfsx, do any of you run it on a network?

I'm trying to set mine up and I'm failing miserably. Any help would be most grateful please.

So Buffalo, Season 3. They took the Electra from Yellow Knife to Resolute Bay, enroute to some top secret Canadian Military Base for a fuel delivery.

I'll be online tomorrow midday and will be taking my ATR 72 on a winter run to prove the old-gal does handle icing conditions well.. :o

Yellow Knife
Cambridge Bay
Resolute Bay
Eureka

The plan-g v3 file is here:

Blue do you run FSinn on your non Fsx pc?

Yes I do. Are you going to do the same?

Yes I am mate. I dug out one of my old pc's and so far I have sorted EFB and Plan-G. Struggling with SB4. With Opusfsx you need to have your sim on both machines so dont think I will do that then.

What else do you run on the 2nd machine?

Do you just not need SimConnect on each machine?

Is that for SB4 ringo? if it is then yes I have and I still cant connect

Saying that I was doing a windows update this morning on old machine and now I cant log on at all just hangs at the first screen(where it tells your your graphics card) oh the joy !!:D

Quick question guys.

I am installing FSX on SSD. However, I also want REX and UTX. Now they take up a lot of disk space. However, I have heard that as long as FSX itself is on an SSD, then the others can be kept on a HDD and will still load textures faster in flight.

Is this poppycock or true?

For REX, it installs/copies the textures to the FSX folders on the SSD when you choose and save a new theme. So yes you can have it on your other HDD.

I don't know about UTX.

I use SB4 but not sure if it uses SimConnect or WideFS. Do you have your FSX and FSX AppData folders shared?

I'm using P3D most of the time now. But exactly the same as fsx. I've tried both Simconnect and WideFS and have both those two folders shared. Are you just connected through Homegroup?

How's this coming along?

Not at all mate. Look above, can't even start the machine. Not sure what's happened.

I'm really having the sim gremlins today. Logged in at Gatwick(I have Gatwick extreme) and none of my planes line up with the gates, some are stuck in buildings haha. When you install airports and scenery what do you do first?

I can't join you guys later unfortunately heading out for the day/night will be back tomorrow if you keen to fly?

Hey Rob, good to see you again. I hope everything is ok now mate? Will be good to see you online again with us.

Thanks Ringo and Blue.

Ringo, The Innsbruck approach does look daunting, and from what you say, a noob like me has no chance of getting it right at the start. Guess that is why PMDG include a save game from the beginning of the approach :)

I set up a network drive on my second PC to point to the shared folders. Did you set up all the simconnect.xml/ini files and include a static ip?

I didn't setup the simconnect files or add any ip addresses. I guess that where I'm coming wrong.

Will have to try again. what do i need to add to these please?
