The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Just wanted to say that I completed my first tutorial flight successfully yesterday, so thanks to everyone for the hints and tips :)

Even though it was an autolanding, it was still a thrill the see the plane line up the centre line of the runway and land perfectly.

Next step will be a manual landing followed by an approach to Innsbruck, which I suspect will take many tries before it is performed properly :)

Ooh which tutorials are you refering to ?

I was just re-playing some of the FSX missions. Does anyone remember the one where you have to fly the cessna caravan and your engine quits and the only place to land is on that aircraft carrier? :D

Good times!

Good morning.

If both PCs can talk to eachother, then this tool may help:-

http://simconnectconfigtool.codeplex.com/

It definitively sets your connection details on your FSX PC, so you know what to reference on your 2nd PC.

Excellent cheers, on my way home now so will try it when I get in.

Did you guys fly yesterday? If you around later we could do something.

Ooh which tutorials are you refering to ?

The PMDG 737 I bought comes with two tutorial flights on PDF. They should be located In the PMDG folder of your FSX install under PMDG 737 NGX (or whichever plane you bought), Flight Manuals.

Tutorial 1 takes you through a flight from London Gatwick to Schiphol in the Netherlands. The first tutorial is hands off with an autoland approach.

The second tutorial starts off at the end of tutorial 1 with the plane cold and dark at Schiphol. This flight is to Innsbruck, Austria and requires you to manually flight the approach. I haven't attempted this yet, but it doesn't look easy.

Both tutorials assume you know the basic functions of the plane and where most of the switches are, so if you don't then read the Introduction document located in the same folder.

That is as far I have got for now :)

The X-Plane Boeing 777 Worldliner Professional is quite neat, it has a webserver built in for the FMS, which you can then load on a tablet or whatever. Reusing a windscreen mount on a desk (so upside down) works pretty well with a tablet attached ;D

So touchscreen FMS is pretty win

In a word...nope!

It may be cheap but its cheap for a reason....models aren't very good, I believe the schedules and many of the liveries are also outdated.

If you want a payware AI then it has to be MyTRAFFIC X PROFESSIONAL 5.4 B.

It'll set u back 40 quid but it's the best AI traffic package...IMHO
