The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Does anyone have the Flytampa Dubai scenery? very tempted as it looks amazing

Dubai from Flytampa is very nice. They do some great airports.

Do you use Navigraph for your charts? if so is the subscription worth it or do you buy them one at a time?

Yes you use them to update the various FMC's on your aircraft. You can use them for weather packages too(Opusfsx). I use them with PFPX(flight planning and fuel usage) EFB etc.

They really good but I would say, only sub if you are going to use them a lot and for more than just one plane.

I use Aivlasoft EFB and can't recommend it enough for IFR, FMC flying. The charts aren't as detailed as the A4 printouts, but it has helped me 10 fold when flying.

It's expensive, but worth it.

However, there is a new version in the pipeline, so it may be worth waiting, but you can still get the demo.

So does the Aivlasoft EFB come with charts, or do you have to download them separately like the EFASS EFB that was mentioned in an earlier post?

When you buy Aivlasoft EFB you will have charts included but they will be from maybe 2/3 years ago. By subbing to navigraph you can then update EFB once a month when they get released. So you will always have up to date charts. Personally I update my FMC,weather, EFB, etc maybe every 2/3 months because I don't think they change that much. Navigraph always tell you what the changes will be for the coming month.

EFASS EFB works exactly the same as Aivlasoft.

Hope that makes sense?

Brian, we still need to go through the Airbus. Let me know when you available and we can do it.

But the charts it generates are from the navdata, so if there is an error in the navdata the chart ill be wrong. although from what I have seen what it does generate looks good

im using Navigraph desktop at the moment and buying each airport as and when I need it
http://www.navigraph.com/ChartsDesktop.aspx

So what you see in that program is what we get in AS EFB expect the airports. The airports in the charts desktop are more accurate than AS EFB.

So what route we doing tonight? Want to have everything setup before we start

Yeah, what the devs of EFB are doing though is really clever as they are bringing all the afcad files for airports etc together with the navigraph navdata and creating a suite of charts

Not sure on route, im just buying and downloading flytampa`s dubai as I want a destination to go to when I buy the 777 :)

is Fsx still good? havent played a microsoft flight sim in years. started DCS world a few months back, mainly the Huey though. love it but just need to time to practice more. landing is a pain lol.
