The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

im after what is says on the box. a sim, DCS world is amazing for sim flight. i have a good set up combat peddles and an X52 set up. got the peddles for DCS, no way i was flying a helicopter via twisting the stick lol. would be so hard. used to love the scenery in MFS. like military aircraft more then civil though.

The scenery in FSX has come in leaps and bounds with ORBX and VFR Photo scenery.

I'm not familiar with Military aircraft in FSX, but there is plenty to choose from.

Brian, we still need to go through the Airbus. Let me know when you available and we can do it.

Thanks for the offer I may well be in touch for that.
With the shifts I'm doing at the moment I have no time for flying but do have lots of reading time and I've been reading the tutorial (plus all the other stuff) again and I think I might have got my head around it. Just need to get to Friday when I can put some of it to practise.

It was a really enjoyable flight last night.

Just for the picture reference, I have the East and West Ireland VFR scenery, but it doesn't do seasons. I was flying in the winter with real world weather from REX.

We flew on Vatsim and had a short lived Edinburgh Tower and then we were on Unicom frequency up until just north of the NorthSouth Irish border. We were then on frequency to EIDW Centre, then passed to Radar and then to Tower.

We flew in the default Beechcraft Baron and due to me slowing right down 20 miles out of EIDW, when I reached my final approach, the other two were asked to slow right down. :D, V was so slow, I'm sure we heard his stall buzzer go off.

Before he landing, a Dash 8 departed.

Chocks off about 20.20hr and chocks on about 22.10hr.

I had to orbit a few times when you put the brakes on! you could have warned us :P Poor Vuvuzela was asked to reduce to 70 knots and was on the edge of a stall!

Was great fun though and made a nice change from being all on my own on vatsim, I have also now broke my GA Vatsim duck :)

Great flight last night. haha, yes I was starting to panic a bit and had to do a go around but managed to land safely.

That plane looks good, compare it with the Carenado one. I tried to copy the link but they having an issue with their website.

Anybody managed to get a password for the Electronic Flight Assistant account? Been waiting a good 4 days now.

In my pending house move, I've managed to tidy up everything in my PC Room apart from my PC, so I hopefully have a bit more flying time this weekend.

Fed up of the T7 OOMs, I've backed up my fsx.cfg, deleted it, and added the basic config settings from the PMDG guide and we'll see how it goes.

A new PC is probably a few years away..

I bought the 777 last night! haven't installed it yet as I want to have a good go at it when I have plenty of time.

If you are up for a check ride at the weekend in then let me know :) also when we flew last you mentioned that a new version of either pfpx or efb was coming out, which was it? I cant remember what you said!

The performance calculator for the Q400 that I mentioned is here :

its free you just need to sign up, doesn't seem to take into account Anti Icing so remember to add 20kt if you are in ice :)

Copied from my thread in peripherals in case anyone here has any ideas!

Basically my joystick is fine when I check the calibration settings but as soon as I get into game the z-rotation (rudder) axis only works half way when turning it to the right - left is fine. It's the same in all the games I have, FSX, Cliffs of Dover and War Thunder

I read that it's fairly common for a connector/wire to come loose inside so i took it to bits but everything looks ok. The fact it's fine when I initially plug it in makes me think it's a driver issue, tried reinstalling driver multiple times but the problem remains...

I should add it's a Saitek Cyborg X, also sold as F.L.Y 5 I believe.

if your calibration works fine then it's not a hardware issue it must be driver or software related
I meant to add it could be a config file issue. It may be wise to make a backup of your fsx.cfg file delete it and let fsx create a new one when you run it. then see what happens with the joystick

A check ride would be good. Let me know some times that are good for you. It was EFB that had a new version coming out, but I don't know when. You can get a 30 day demo of the existing version.
