The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

I'm using Opus for weather and looking back at the shots it didn't seem to give me any nice cloud cover/big clouds, is that down to what i've chosen in REX perhaps? Seems like AS next is the one to have these days...

Make sure your clouds in FSX are set to maximum and your distance is around 90.

It could be what you chosen in Rex? I get great clouds in Opus.

Mr Roper I should be on in around 30/40min if you about?

Did you fly last night?

This morning I completed yesterday's flight from Portland to Las Vegas in the T7. No OOMs, a clean landing! And the scenery en-route was lovely. Good times. And mouseLook was working today.

Not that I can afford new stuff, but I'm hoping the Carenado Phenom 100 will be released soon and will be great.

And the Legacy has a cruise speed of 240 kts with an impressive range of 1150 miles.

yes we did fly, we took out the c172's and did some flying around PNW. The winds were crazy. Little plane was all over the place. But great fun.

Nice shots.

Glad you got your flight finished Blue, I had Approach vector me in, which was nice, and the scenery is lovely around that area

Our flight last night was a a little hairy, I dont think we were VFR legal!

Let me know if you want a hand setting up simconnect Vuvuzela, just jump on mumble and I will keep an eye out.

Whilst sat at work programming machines this morning I decided that buying a weeks food shop from my Christmas money simply wasn't the right thing to do. Currently the Majestic Dash 8 is downloading to my PC :D

I wish I'd purchase ORBX EGHI when it was on offer before Christmas too, oh well. I have ORBX England so it is a little tarted up over the standard FSX install.

One question about the ORBX stuff. Can you only have one area active at any one time? I noticed that in my FTX central only Europe is ticked (I have ORBX England) however ORBX North America is unticked. I cannot have both ticked at the same time even though both are installed. Does this mean that my PNW scenery will not show unless I select North America in FTX Central?

Excellent :) let us know when you get a mic :) and then you can come and laugh at us make mistakes!!

I think you need FTX global to allow flying across regions, it enables a hybrid mode that enables all your orbx scenery I think!?

I think the only real difference between having one region active over another is the global autogen files used. Thus you'll probably end up with non representative trees and roof tops in the non selected regions but the basic landclass will all be there as will the terrain etc.

I don't think hybrid mode is a 100% solution but a believable compromise.

It'll be me you're laughing at! Does the Dash 8 always start engines off? Also the usual cntrl+E to auto start does not work. Do I have to start this plane up the hard way every time? I best get reading if so.

I need a 2nd monitor or a tablet now to display this whilst I try to start up the Dash 8. Wish my PC was still next to my TV at times like this.

For steering control mode I'm a little confused. Do they mean for everything or just on the ground? I have a Saitek X52 pro and pedals but have read on the ground you have to use a tiller to control. I have some rotating bits on the X52 I could use, I think?

This plane is going to take a lot of setting up to get flying.

mine is setup in the control panel so that my yoke is the tiller. you get about 30 degrees of movement with the rudder pedals and I use my yoke (aileron axis) for the tiller. I think you set this in the control panel
