The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Well done mate, you really need to get a headset and get online with us, more than happy to help you out with setting her up etc.

Its strange you get less performance as q400 is the best performing plane I have. I get 30 locked at all times

The autopilot Is quite simple in these planes, remember that there is no auto throttle so its easy to lose track of your speed and get into trouble.

Myself and vuvuzela had a good flight from Sydney to Melbourne in the 737`s last night. WE both had to hold as some ass%ole jumped in front of us in a md-11, as usual FSX threw up its usual list of odd errors and strange events! :)

Been thinking about getting this now that I'm not going to move to P3D any time soon.

Yes sounds good.

I will let you know how it goes tonight, I got the md-11 and js4100 installed.

loaded up the JS4100 and realized I had forgotten everything about it!! :S I will have to start watching those videos :D

Yes please do. Have read mixed reviews about it. Its about £20 right?

Glad you got those sorted. I think Blue has the MD11 too? If I have some time in a bit I might load it up and see if I can get her up. :p

Flying the ATR, I have a head wind of 71knts

Payday tomorrow. I just need to see how much I get and whether I can still put into savings the amount I'm aiming for as well as the £350 for car insurance that comes out on the 17th. This house saving thing is pretty boring. If I have any spare I will purchase a headset and sign back up to vatsim.

I'll take a look this evening at the FPS thing. I'd been doing several things on the PC prior to firing up FSX and was still doing other things whilst FSX was open too. I'm sure I'll get it running smoothly again with no issues. A new SSD would be nice, I've had to put my FSX on a spinner drive at the moment.

Thanks for the heads up on the PNW update too, I'll get that later.

What does the DX10 fix do? I'm currently using REX's ENB and the Shader 3.0 mod. I don't believe these work with DX10 do they?

I always wanted the MD11, but they stopped updating it, so I never purchased it.

A few shots from a short flight this evening from Shetland to Glasgow.

very nice shots.

MrRoper and I did some VFR last night around the Canadians Rockies. Not a great idea to be honest. Let's just say, my plane is still stuck up in the mountains somewhere. :p

haha, it was funny watching you fly into a wall of cloud!! :P

Great fun :) well I tinkered with dx10 a bit more, and although it runs fine I get terrible performance in the 737 when at cruising altitude which I think is clouds related :S

I also cant run my enb profile so I'm back to directx 9. MY advice at the moment would be to stay with directx 9 if you fly anything complex.

Never tinkered with dx10 but I do use sweetfx now instead of enb, and so far it seems much more stable and customisable. Enb isn't compatible with dx10. Also just out of curiosity for anyone with the Dash 8, I'm finding on approach I can intercept the ils localizer and glide scope but my rate of descent is too high and about 1000ft above field elevation I'm below the glide scope so switch to manual to bring her in. Is this normal? (I know there's no autoland but it seems very imprecise).

Edit. Also I'm thinking joining a VA? i used to use FSPassengers and FSCaptain which both work ok but looking for something a bit more immersive and which will have scheduling. Any suggestions? I'd quite like something which is flexible with regards to routes and aircraft. Quite like the look of FlyUK, plenty of destinations and routes, choice of aircraft and a ranking up system with aircraft I already own (Twin Otter, Dash 8, Level D 767, PMDG 747).

nope thats not normal mate, I can fly an ILS approach all the way down with the q400.

Are you stabilized? I find that any significant change to my configuration upsets the aircraft and can knock it out of approach mode quite easily

I joined FlyUK early this week, seem ok so far but they are very relaxed with their rules etc. Only done one flight so far but it went fine.
