Hi Brian... Yes, I was going to say it most likely Autogen level, but as you say you tried 'Extreme' it can't be that... mines at Very Dense btw... and I now see its the base that is different, and not just the agn on top.

So, as suggested, its most likely its Vector having an influence, which I don't have, I'm using only ENG region... yours still looks fine though.

It is interesting because what should be there are warehouses that make up part of the RN Dockyard. you'll occasionally see Submarines or some of the smaller Naval vessels moored up alongside in real life so I guess the land class on ORBX Global base or ORBX vector whichever one is supplying it is telling porkies in my case

I wonder if the 'Scenery Library' positions have an influence?... maybe try a different order, making sure the ENG region is on top. It certainly can affect some scenery combinations, but have not idea regarding Vector, Global etc...

... what is the food like? I did think about taking the kids to see some planes coming and going, and it looks such a nice location for a day out... We have Dunkeswell close by, but often head into Dorset, so thought I might check out the real Compton Abbas one day.

I've taken a look at the library and I have UK2000 3rd party airports at the top followed by ORBX Eng, Wales and Scotland and then all the other ORBX Global/Vector stuff. Think I might need to to do an uninstall/re-install as EGKB now appears to be full of trenches, and what I can see of the main runway appears to be 30m underground!

There a scenery utility here that may help.

Please note, I have not installed and tried it, so use it wisely..

Brian,

Go into the ORBX EU folder it hink its called ORBX_EU_05 or something similar

and rename the EGKB files to have .old at the end (make sure you can see the extensions so that they say EGKB.bgl.old etc)

You might need to do this for any uk2000 airport you have.

Hi,

I've had PC troubles recently.

I'm currently flogging my old kit and putting the money towards some new stuff.

I'm going to be attending as a virtual pilot at the Flight Sim Convention Weston 2014 with the Severn Air group. I'm hoping to have new stuff by then.

Thanks Blue I have SceneryConfigEditor v1.1.2 which is a similar product I think which allows me to swicth scenery on and off (I think) not yet found the culprit though.

Thanks did that then remembered I don't have a UK2000 version of EGKB DOH! so put them back

. I had actually done this for EGLL as I had an issue with Jetways appearing out of the middle of buildings!
Not sure what's causing this with EGKB though I think I'm going to have to take off all scenery and start again.

Ok So the issue appears to have been caused by ORBX Global Vector and their latest update. This new version adds a config tool to the package which allows you to switch various items on and off to help those of us that don't have supercomputers. on one of the tabs in there is an Airport Elevation Correction tool which once I disabled the EGKB entry the airfield went back to being above the land....happy days

changed the hdd on my machine and trying to re-install fsx and dvd 2 doesnt work, anyone know how I can install without it or have one I can borrow?

Yeah, but wouldn't the kinect offer more accuracy?

I'm pretty sure its got very little to do with the actual hardware - it's accuracy will be down to how well the software element works.
I've never used a Kinect so I can't really make any comparison, but I have tried the Facetracknoir and it works very well with my cheapo webcam

I tried the Facetracknoir but found it a little too jerky for my liking, but then the room it was in isn't the brightest. how well does yours work in low light? or are you an all lights on simmer

Having bought and dissected the FSX Code Base, P3D have rather embarrassingly revealed that there was a flag to offload the CPU to the GPU all along..
