The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

Pasty, not really much configuring.

If you get it:

On the texture install configuration page, everything needs to be ticked.

On the configuration settings and optimization page (cog icon top right) put both texture column options on the right to the highest settings/DXT 5

At the bottom are the different options for cloud, sun, runway texture etc. You simply select sun for instance, pick one you like and install. Do this for each segment at the bottom. Once done click themes then save (bottom right, near yellow text) apply and run the game :)

REX OD has a built in weather engine which can insert real world weather into the sim. REX Texture Direct does not have this.

REX OD in my opinion has the better textures than what REX TD has but TD installs the textures very quick while OD takes a much longer time to install.

Personally, if you are looking for cloud textures - I think the HDEv2 clouds are more realistic and natural looking than some of the REX sets which can often look too sharp or like a cardboard cutout.
(All my above screenshots are using either HDEv2 clouds or Rex Soft Clouds http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/soft.html).

Thank you!

Yes, the above screenshots are using FTX Global for general ground textures.
The airports in the above screenshots are Aerosoft Keflavik and Erfurt, Orbx EGHI Southampton with FTX England and Drzewiecki Design Moscow Sheremetyevo X.

You might need to sign up for the REX forums to see this post, but the ENB I have used is called NaturalENB and can be found here:

Lots of useful links

You are too kind. Thank you so much for putting the effort to link these. Greatly appreciated :)

Bookmarked and will investigate these tonight.

Bit miffed that I shelled out £22 for Rex TD as opposed to the other Rex which you said is better. Not sure why there is so many variants, so confusing!
