Anyone running P3D V3 at 4K?

I'm in the market for a new monitor and wondering if I'm going to need to keep a 1080 or even purchase a 1440 monitor for P3D use.
 
Hi all,

Finally getting round to installing fsx on my new computer with no addons installed yet only fsx.
Just want to know any sites/links to help get the fsx running great. I know Bojote's Tweaking and Tuning tool but the site is down now.

Which GPU are you running and what kinda frame rates do you get?

I spent over an hour last night trying to resolve a g2d.dll instant crash to desktop on a fresh install of P3Dv3. I gave up in the end troubleshooting the issue and decided to reinstall Windows, which did the trick.

I didn't test properly as I am waiting on a new stick but I now have P3Dv3 on dedicated 128GB Samsung Evo 840. FTX Global, FTX England, Vector, Active Sky, REX soft clouds and REX Texture Direct.

Anything else that I should be looking at? Not sure what to get for AI.

I see UK2000 have a sale on at the moment, a pretty decent one. 40% off when 4 airports are bought. Going to definitely take advantage of this.

I will check them out, also been trying to find out about setting it up to run better i know some people use nvinspector to help change a few settings etc. I cannot remember how to get it done.

I've installed it and the runway and taxiway and island show, but it has no buildings and I can't work out why. I'm running FSX:SE with DX10 Fixer. I did have the Overland version from the Japanese Airports series installed before, but that had problems with the textures and lights (being made for FS2004, I didn't expect it to work perfectly).

EDIT: Nevermind, got it working by moving the Kitakyushu_X folder below the airport one.

Also, just ordered a new SSD for my FSX installation. Is there any way to move it (and re-add it to Steam) without it revalidating files? I don't want it to replace the textures and what not that I have the way I like them.
 
Right guys, all is installed only addons I have installed with my fsx is exdok and aersoft a318.
All seems to be running ok and smooth followed this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFmpT04kNVE) video on getting a few things set.

I have not set up my x55 or ezdok in fsx yet I just want to know if there is anything else you guys would do to maybe to graphics??

I will be soon if santa is nice be getting more scenery addons.

Oh forgot to mention I am getting around 60fps' Specs are 4690K, GTX 970 no overclock yet.
 
Just a quick heads up, IRIS are selling thier Vulcan for $9.99 which worked out to £5.10 through PayPal. its a cracking model and flies like a fighter :D
 
FSX Steam has been re-compiled using the latest MS development tools and benefits from a small speed increase over the old boxed edition but it essentially follows the same rules as FSX. You want the fastest CPU you can get. No idea how fast your Conroe goes, sorry.

I've just installed FTX England, and I'm a little disappointed with the textures used for the runways, I'm used to the nice hi res Rex runways. Is there anyway i can update the textures FTX uses?

I've had a little play around , but just seem to have broken the winter runway textures, so now I only get a default black runway.

If you re-run the Rex textures it should replace them.....I think

Do you mean on the airports that FTX England replaces entirely? I believe REX only replaces default scenery textures so that probably won't be possible. Orbx textures will likely come from satellite imagery where as REX is just generic textures as an improvement over default. Although as with many things FS related where there's a will there's a way, probably worth having a search on AVSIM or Orbx forums

Yeah tried that, but as Robmol says FTX replaces the default scenery for airports.

FTX England is brilliant otherwise (except the low framerates around London, but I think that's normal anyway.)

I shall continue to investigate, because FTX must be setting those textures somewhere.

Sorry me again...

I'm just trying to install Mastereffects Reborn but can't figure out where to put the files...

I've currently got Reshade and SweetFX 2.0 installed, but haven't got the foggiest where to put the MasterEffect files and then how i would edit the MasterFX?

Any of you good chaps able to lend a hand?
