Some FSINN Help:-

And it should add a menu to FSX, and you'll see it once you've loaded a plane and are at an airport.

Depending on numbers, I can suggest 4 things we could do:-

1. IFR flight on VATSIM, something like perfecting our Cardiff to Jersey Route or t'other way round.
2. VFR flight on VATSIM. Island hopping in a shared or solo flight.
3. Listen in to VATSIM to get a feel of the ATC competency needed online.
4. A Gamespy flight - free for all.

Thanks to all for getting this going!

I am hoping to make tonight, but Virgin are having serious problems in my area (DA16 postcode).

Says it should be resolved this afternoon, but we'll wait and see with that lot.

Absolutely brilliant.

We managed a shared cockpit on VATSIM and a multiplayer on Gamespy.

ATC practice and some windy landings.

Thanks to those involved.

When's the next one? :D

Great night last night. Just need to get up to speed with my ATC lingo

Will try find something on the net, had a quick look last night but nothing that stood out straight away.

Will be good if we can keep this going.

stevie will give you a hand with the fsx 737, not sure what was going on last night. I do highly recommend the the ifly or the pmdg. A lot of reading at first and frustration but all worth it in the end.

ATC takes time. It's a lot to take on board, but only a finite number of things that can be said at certain stages. The massive list of links in the email I sent is the bits that I picked up along the way. I'm still learning.

Knowing your plane's call sign is the first thing and then key phrases are:

"Rgr that"
"Say again"
"Affirm"
And then repeating what's been said to you, back to them with your call sign.
Them: "Golf-BravoOscarKiloEcho, turn right heading 395"
You: "turn right heading 'tree-niner-fife', Golf-BravoOscarKiloEcho"

The next thing to look at for VFR flying is 'CEPAHCER'

I nearly got put off with being overwhelmed, so I'm trying to do a drip feed of information. But here's the 'detailed' stuff.

If you're using FSInn

A plane follows me

Disable Automatic P2P establishing. This allows you to easily fly P2P with pilots of your choice and not have the problems with clients with faulty configurations.

Inn Control Panel -> Set -> Network -> Peer To Peer -> (Check) Disable Automatic Peer to Peer establishing.

After this setting you can selectively P2P connect to each plane and identify the culprit to eleminate.

Installing the Loopback adapter alsoresolves the issue and retains the benefit of P2P. Please test this and report the results to the forum (instructions for installing loopback adapter in question #4).

P2P which is enabled by default allows faster updates (realtime) and a more fluid motion. This is especially benificial when flying formation.

When's the next flight. I'll be on and off over the weekend. Can do many evenings between 7.30pm and 10pm at the latest.
