The 'Official' Screenshot & Tips thread 4 FSX enthusiasts & flight simmers.

I didn't want to take this thread off topic, but it's more than likely to be 2-1.

The altitude doesn't help and England played a fantastic 2nd half. :p

I will give you that ;) they played very well 2nd half....:)

So back on topic...what is the biggest plane you can land at London City? We should fly into there tonight? Will our 600's do the trick?

Largest aircraft which is allowed is the A318 as far as I know. The 736 and A318 are very similar aircraft, but I'm pretty sure the landing distances of the NGs are all more than their respective A32X counterparts - which might be an issue at EGLC. Also, if you're flying the NGX, you'll see how much they dislike the 5.5 degree glideslopes :D

atc would turn a blind eye for the 600 departing eglc. landing is good fun in the atr 500. it's a tough one and we could take a cessna out of there, but one step at a time..

Here's a good read.

I'm online on mumble if anyone wants to join in tonight.

Quite a lot of work was required it seems to make the A318 compatible. I'm pretty sure the 737 is worse than the A32x in this respect, as in it's harder to descend and slow down than the A32x. I've landed the NGX once at EGLC and let's just say the pax were probably glad they had their seatbelts on.

For ground textures I use these freeware ones: https://sites.google.com/site/aimecreations/ALCreations

They're MUCH better than Ground Environment X (which is payware). It takes a while to download all the packs from Simviation (comes to around 5GB in total) but well worth it IMO.

What do you mean by scenery? The only shot with addon-scenery is the wingview shot of the NGX departing Innsbruck, which is using Aerosoft's Innsbruck.

hi, do i have to use both 30&50cm textures or one of them?

You could just use the 50cm textures, as all the 30cm textures do is overwrite some of the 50cm textures in higher resolution. So if you don't want to download it all, just download the 50cm packages :)

cheers mate, hm i will download all of them and if i understood well i will install first the 50 and then the 30.

Is the performance hit huge with these add ons? i already have 7GB of photorealistic Greece and it isnt that bad, for sure better than GEX and UTX

No problems.

I flew out of EGPH to EICK on VATSIM.

I ran into a problem I forgot about. I couldn't climb past FL210.

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/344335-problem-with-fsinn-on-vatsim/

I disconnected from VATSIM, disabled weather updates in FSINN and now all seems fine.

SO... I cutoff my left engine over the Irish Sea and followed the procedure to fly with one engine. The autopilot is taking care of business.

I might be online late Friday or Saturday Afternoon or late evening.

Yep, the 50cm then the 30cm. I don't notice a performance hit.

EDIT: Make sure you back up your Scenery/World/Texture folder before adding them, so you can easily revert back to your old textures if you don't like them.

i've got a weird problem which i just noticed, the ground textures are blurry and only rendered in high quality when the airplane is close to them ie in close vicinity...wtf?
