Sony-Ericsson Xperia-Arc-crowned-best-mobile-phone

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has shown itself to be the phone that finally knocks the HTC Desire off the perch of best mobile phone in the world.
TechRadar's ranking of the 20 best handsets is our definitive list, helping you work out which phone to pick up, and has had millions of views since its launch last year.
The HTC Desire has sat proudly atop that list since its launch last year, but now there's a new smartphone cowboy on the scene in the shape of the Xperia Arc.
It was an nigh-on impossible task to choose a winner, with all of the top 20 proving to be quality smartphones - and the HTC Desire S and Desire staging the mobile version of a Greek tragedy at numbers two and three below the Xperia Arc.

The arc does work very well, but there are plenty of benefits to dual core phones as you know and those benefits will only increase as time goes by due to applications being designed for it.

It will also make Android smoother on the whole, hopefully. Especially things like in-browser Flash.

This has just been released at such a bad time, if it was released 4-6 months ago I would have got one to play with until now, but its just way too close to the SGS2 release which is a better phone all round in my opinion (although it costs more) :)

Not Massivly Impressed yet!!.. I get about a day(ish)... but thats with it connected to my Wi-Fi for the last few days (Happy Holidays) with it pinging Googlemail/Calendar, Yahoo mail, Farcebook and Twitter...

I do have Juice defender when I'm out set to Aggressive!!!..

Granted I am on the Market a lot... and playing 'Angry Birds' and 'Stupid Zombies' a excessivly!!... but when I'm Syncing Music (Winamp - Wi-Fi) and Waching movies (Tron Legacy at the mo!!) I have it Plugged in!!..

Someone said it should get better when the Battery sorts its self out!!... or is that an Old Wives Tale!!..

Screenie Alert!!!..

(Not finished Fettling yet!!.. and Not adding another Loader yet!!.. want to get used to Android before then!!...) Stock Gingerbread:

Got one of these on Saturday great phone.
One question though every time i switch the phone on setup guide appears in the notification bar,how do i stop this?
Thanks
Edit.
Looks like a dodgy sim card was to blame, tried another one and do not get this problem.
As for battery life same as above about 1 to 2 days.
Great phone, very responsive and lovely screen.

Does anyone know what the TMOsyncservice is and why it chews through my battery sometimes? Sometimes I get 14 hours and sometimes 28 with little discernible difference in usage.

Yeah it is from T mobile, any ideas on how I get rid? Sometimes it's as much as 35% usage which seems mental.

You have two options.

1. Debrand the phone, I have put some instructions on the 1st page with the generic UK ROM from my handset.

2. Root the phone using gingerbreak.

Cool thanks, think I will root as I don't really want to go through setting my phone up again :p

Where is currently the best place to get one of these sim free from? I don't normally buy mobile phones over the net!
