Dual core means better battery, 1080p video recording and a faster device its the future of mobile phones now, even the Iphone 5 is going dual core.

Don't get me wrong it looks a nice phone but I feel it should have been with us 3-4 months ago to have had a chance in the market.

Word on the grape vine is it will have the dual core A5 and PowerVR SGX543 from the iPad 2.

There is also word that there won't even be an iPhone 5 this year, a little strong to state it will have a dual core when nobody really knows anything. Admittedly if it does indeed come out this year it likely will be dual core.

As I have heard but that's why I said 'word on the grape vine' - current rumours :)

Would make more sense if they were the specs and it came out early next year, otherwise that would mean Apple are up to date tech wise :p (though the iP4 was pretty up to date).

GSM Arena Review :p:D

Very positive review

year ago it seemed Sony Ericsson’s lack of inspiration was becoming chronic. With delayed updates and boring uniform looks the XPERIA lineup was going nowhere.
But something happened and they’re now keen to make up for lost time: a whole new generation of Android smartphones, new type of displays and camera sensors, the PlayStation phone. They’re even about to unlock the boot loader of the new XPERIA family – something Sony Ericsson have been denying developers for years.
The XPERIA Arc is a big part of that – probably the most important part of the plan. The Arc is Sony Ericsson’s first Gingerbread droid, the first to have the new Reality display and Sony’s new Exmor R camera sensor. They’ve given it the best they have but the tech inside doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s the bold lines and compelling elegance that show Sony Ericsson know how to treat a flagship.
The company’s slimmest smartphone is easily the most beautiful to date. The phone looks so good we’re wiling to forgive some of the design choices that were probably forced on the team: the lens and shutter key placement, the non-hot-swappable memory card slot or the lack of auto brightness control.
The Arc has it all in terms of features: big quality screen, awesome 8 megapixel camera and HD camcorder, the latest Android. Not less important, the phone has a soul and spirit.

I do tend to agree with GSMArena on most things.

I think the Xperia Arc is a 'decent' phone from the reviews, its not trying to do anything really new, its just a solid camera-smartphone that gets the job done well. Sort of like the HTC Incredible S, just without SenseUI and (at a guess) with better multimedia features.

This is pretty epic.

Here are couple of snaps from another forum.

To be fair though, how many people look at their phone off-axis.

i sometimes get pranoid about how everyone within a 10 metre radius of me can see whats on my iphone4 screen.... id actually be happier if you couldnt see it from every single angle. especially when i only look at it from one

Had a quick play in a 3 shop today and was very impressed. Granted I don't have any long term experience with other android phones but with the camera results shown in andyd's post, I'm very tempted!

Anothe review is up.

Tech Radar

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is a very impressive phone al round. The body is unbelievably thin, the screen large and responsive to the touch, the camera the best you'll get today. It's a phone that stands out from the usual black slabs, with Sony Ericsson's take on Android 2.3 offering a more visually impressive experience than that of the similar Nexus S.

Another good review. :D
