**The Official Star Wars Battlefront II Thread (PC)**

Played for about 20min before quitting and deleting. Just another bland, cookie-cutter MP FPS game. Might grab it for the campaign a year down the line but I saw nothing that made me want to buy the game, never mind spend some hours of my finite life on it.

I could prob waste 20-30hours in it though.

Yup, thats pretty much how I am looking at it. I choose to play/buy games on the £ per hour scale and I think that for all its faults, I could get 35 hours out of Battlefront 2, which meets my £/hour requirement.

I dont mind the heroes too much, you need like 5000 points in a round to be able to choose one so thats way better than the heroes being pickups, so I'm ok with that. Its not like the same person will be playing as a hero 5 times in a row in a match like they did in SWBF1

I am quite enjoying it but then i liked the first one..

Space battle is good I like strike better than conquest purely for the map.. just hope the other maps are better than naboo.. really not a fan

For me DX12 runs much smoother than DX11

Its difficult to explain but it just feels 'dead' to play, just not feeling anything. Motion feels good and for a beta it seems to run well, which no doubt they will balls up before the release.

That is exactly what I thought, the game feels dead to play on multiplayer.

It would have to improve dramatically for me to buy it, still waiting for bf1 to be fixed. BF1 was getting very good until they broke it with the huge lag problems.

I loved the first one in the end (first dlc was epic too and the death star plus rogue one dlc is pretty damn good as well), still ***** me of the direction they went though, they could have made a reskin of bf 4 and everyone would still be playing it now....

Went to check the usual youtubers videos but surprisingly there is little to no videos for the game, not exactly a good sign :D :p

Completely forget about the strike/forest/smaller game mode, played it last night and that is definitely much better than the rush/naboo game mode, as already mentioned, graphics are messed up though, foliage not rendering and then lighting/shadow issues as the game looks washed out when outside.

I don't think it's that bad, I might buy it just for the dog fighting in space which is superb fun even for a noob pilot ala me !

From sources apparently before you even get to the menu screen

you get loot crate introduction in your face.

and after every death you are shown what *cards/gear your enemy was using.

i mean DLC is one thing and can be ignored but.....loot crates and actively forcing them into player view so in other words every death they show you what your enemy probably paid for now to keep up / beat him you should pay into the loot crate system as well to maybe get better weapons.

I can confirm all of that!

The game will be extremely grindy and a lot of the cards/perks are a huge advantage (talking about cards that provide 25-40% extra damage or damage resistance etc.), this micro transaction system and the complete lack of a squad system is what will kill this game far quicker than the first one....

Here's hoping that the single player will be ace to make up for the MP abomination.

I don't like the prospect of it showing your enemies perks/boosts after they kill you.

It's just baiting you into dropping £££ to be like them to get revenge. If they killed you using X boost (that you don't have) then OH MY WORD YOU MUST HAVE X BOOST AT ALL COSTS £££££

Can't you buy crates with the points you earn during matches ?

Yup you can but you are going to have to grind away if you want to get a significant amount of crafting parts in order to get the new/OP guns etc. i.e. I must have played about 20 matches by now and the total crafting parts I have got after unlocking all my crates was 80, I spent 40 on one card/perk and was left with 40 crafting parts and in order to unlock that other assault weapon (and supposedly there are a **** load of guns in this game....), I needed 600 crafting parts so yeah, either grind away or pay to win.

Oh and don't forget about the cost to "upgrade" the OP perks to be even more OP.

Calling it now, this game is going to flop big time.

Hmm, the beta is ok, I was far more excited by the Battlefield 1 beta but subsequently didn’t play the full game much, I suspect I won’t be rushing out to pre-order this like I did with BF1, if I can grab a copy cheap from the MM or eBay then yes I’ll guve it a shot, but, I sure as hell won’t be paying full retail price for it, from what I’ve seen and experienced of Battlefront 1, waiting and bagging the whole lot including DLC a year or so after launch will be my play.
