AMD probably wouldn’t allow it until they can develop their own inferior version.

AMD aren't blocking DLSS, they game doesn't come with any vendors upscaling tech, including FSR, as usual it was all a whole load of hot air click bait.

Besides that it looks like FSR3 might actually be as good if not better than DLSS3.

I thought fsr was built into it?

This is weird, I went to move the game but it shows as installed but 0b. I'd have thought it would still show the actual install size.
Edit: NVM, forgot it caches preloads.

So far as i can tell, and i have been out of the loop for a few days... SF has FSR3 'for the XBox Series X' but not in the PC version, not yet at least, and AMD have come out and said Nvidia are free to add DLSS to SF.

Last i knew someone checked the install files and found no DLSS, XeSS or FSR, i haven't seen anyone playing in early access saying it has any of those 3 techs in the PC version.

You get a code on your invoice, if the qualifying item was eligible for the game at the time of purchase. You then go to AMD rewards website, sign up or login and redeem the code from your invoice. AMD rewards will then ask you to link your steam account and you will have the game added to your library.
Spoke to the retailed (where you might buy an FE card), apparently when I bought my CPU in July the promotion wasn't active. Boo.

Still, got a premium upgrade sorted for 13 quid so just activated it and downloaded. All set for tomorrow

I've read multiple times it has FSR2. Even seen a screenie with it?

From what little I have seen so far this is turning out to be better than I expected. Did not expect this level of polish.

Even more excited now :D

I am surprised TBF. Even the console version seems to be OK:

DF people seem to say it is CPU heavy, which is what I kept telling people in the GPU section it would be. The consoles can hold 30FPS until they hit the cities, where they can hit just under 30FPS.

Me and @KompuKare run the Fallout 4 benchmark thread and Fallout 4 performance could tank in settlements. Its quite clear Papyrus scripting or the equivalent Creation 2 uses, can push CPUs.

This was posted earlier, but again confirms what I told you guys for months:

Where lots of NPCs are,you are CPU bottlenecked. This is the same in Fallout 4,so its again a Papyrus bottleneck. See,I told everyone for ages this would be the case!

People were all fighting about upscaling,RT,etc when it was quite obvious even the consoles probably are more CPU limited so are capped to 30FPS.

Even though the engine seems more threaded, there is one worker threaded which is still pushed more.

The CPU makes a big difference! With a better CPU,you can get better FPS at 1440p than at 1080p!

Also look at the CPU bottleneck. I kept telling people in the GPU section who were going on about upscaling and I said in cities the game were going to be CPU heavy.

Yeah i see that, you were right :)

I'm not worried about that, 5Ghz 5800X with 3800MT/s RAM, its not the latest and greatest these days but still a monster gaming CPU.

I am not so sure. Look at the Ryzen 5 5600X and Ryzen 5 7600X figures above!

I don't have an amazing CPU but I'm not toooo worried.

Well you do because you are on Zen4.

Ok fair enough :) what use is skydiving from 100KM altitude without a parachute anyway, but dropping your APC or Tank out the back of a C2 above a low gravity moon, that's fun...

Being confined to a few square KM of a designated LZ, you have to admit that is a bit lame.
Installed it now again and can confirm you can jump from space (another ship that lets you be outside) all the way down to a planet and using the jetpack to slow down the fall right at the bottom. Will need some healthy supply of life support fuel though :P

What bothers me more is the lack of trying (in general). Sure, it will be a decent game, but that's about it...

What difference does that make? Genuinely don't know lol.

Me and @KompuKare run the Fallout 4 benchmarking thread. This is what it looks like:

Those numbers look OK,until you realise I could get half the FPS in the chart on my Ryzen 7 5700X in large settlements with lots of NPCs. Number 21 is using a simulated Ryzen 7 7700X - look how much faster than the Ryzen 7 5700X/5800X it is! :(

Right, noted..... how can this be worse than Star Citizen?

Now i might need a Ryzen 7700, i was hoping to keep the 5800X for another year or two.
I might just hope my 5Ghz overclock and the fast RAM will see it right because my GPU is getting very long in the tooth, we'll see what happens when i've replaced it, i'm not exactly flush with cash right now and changing the CPU means changing the board and RAM too...
