Not sure if these are bugs but I had a few random encounters on Kreet (the starting moon). These were early random game encounters that happened during the early main quest.

On the way from the landing area to the research lab I encountered a large cargo ship with a few crew members outside it. I spoke to the captain and they said they landed due to some failure and asked if I had any resources, I didn’t so parted ways.

The other was a Spacer pirate ship that landed at the research lab. I killed the crew but could not sit on the pilot seat as I was not levelled up enough.

I forgot about both encounters until today when I am now level 23. So I went to the cargo ship location with some spare ship parts but expected it to be gone. It was there but had no crew. I sat on the seat and flew to New Atlantis to register this very large cargo ship as mine.

The other Spacer ship is still there but I can’t enter it as it is now “inaccessible”.

Am i the only one who hasn't really started the Constellation main quest line yet? I got to meet the UC contact with Sarah and left it at that before i side tracked onto and endless amount of side quests. I'm about 25 hours in and that's all i've been doing lol.

Same here. İ don't plan to start that for some time. What's the rush when having a blast doing other things?

Which mod?

The ones I am using so far all do work:

- fov
- dlss
- natural lut
- auto hdr (Well not a game mod but a work around on windows)

Although yeah there will be some mods which will not work on gamepass, I have seen a few so far but wasn't interested in using them anyway.

Speaking of the smooth menu/hud one, not tried myself but seen a few posts saying people are having crashes, is this so?

Any UI/inventory mods yet, current one is bloody awful to use.

It's in the post I quoted dude. Lol

I've got to level 25 mostly just from raiding random bases and going to random planets, been taking on level 70 pirates on "very hard" difficulty lol...

I have done a few of the main quests, but I'm mostly enjoying flying around being a general gypo deadbeat.

I've made it to Sol, some guy with an axe to grind got his butthurt mates to ambush me in the Moon's orbit. I realise I need to upgrade weapons on the ship now :p

Also, Earth looks..... deserted

Quite interesting how much the game loves Raptor Lake. Wonder what it is about it that gives it such a leap over the 7xxx series here?

Can't really work out what it likes, apart from maybe just the architectural IPC/clock speeds of Raptor Lake. Clearly threads don't matter as most of the 7xxx series whether they have 12 or 32 threads dont seem to make much of a difference.

Also the reliance on memory speed seems to have been perhaps overstated.

AMD 5xxx cpu's and down are not doing well.

If i was to conclude anything, then it taps into some of the single core power that Raptor Lake has over Ryzen (seen in a fair few rendering/productivity benches), as the 13900k is the clear winner, and that is the clear winner in most single core cpu benches..Would make sense as this is where the 5xxx series pales in comparison to the latest intel stuff. L2 cache as well maybe?

Probably due to the restricted bandwidth of Infinity Fabric.

Oh yeah, low grav exploration is really fun lol. I found an outpost on this moon and some scavengers were on patrol. Shot one guy, his rifle FLEW INTO SPACE  - Another guy's body ragdolled into the air spinning. Much lols. £32 alright.

I did their test run on a 4080 with a 5900X and according to HUB I should be getting avg 55 FPS with lows of 46.

I’m getting about 68 FPS average and a low of about 55. Of course I would expect better but it’s still a lot higher than HUB got. All settings ultra.

Can anyone else confirm or test for comparison?

Reading that, my mind suddenly realised something about gravity on worlds that I hadnt considered before and now I'm wondering if any game (Starfield, Star Citizen, Elite etc) has ever included this aspect, but I would assume that when it comes to ballistic weapons, the "range" of the weapons would be tied to the gravity on the planet, lower gravity, less down pull on the bullet and thus longer travel distance. Has any game ever taken that into account?

Came across a level 26 on a boss raid but not seen anything higher as of yet. Was surprisingly easy to take down, especially when equipped with a stun shotgun. Not as much of a bullet sponge as i thought it would be and head shots do insane crit damage.

I believe it was more to do with memory bandwidth and people generally running faster ram speeds with raptor lake where as AMD users seem abit more limited on this part due to the controller? That's what i read anyway but have yet to test it myself. Waiting for 14th gen before i jump on faster memory, 7000+mhz might see a substantial boost in performance.

What memory speed are you running and what was HUBS memory speed on his test bench? Would be interesting to find out.

Yeah went to visit earth only to find it baron and pretty much a wasteland.

Which bit is the test run or is there a script to run it?

This game doesn't employ bullet trajectory and drop based on weather/gravity, but objects do take gravity into account from what I've seen so far. So whilst in theory a bullet should carry on forever in the vacuum of space or much longer on low grav moons, the distance and speed of bullets appear the same as on a 1G planet.

I think it's cool the extent at which physics and gravity is accounted for though even if bullets disobey the laws of space and time :p

Would be a cool feature in a future sci-fi game, hopefully someone somewhere down the line includes that sort of stuff in a space game

The modders will be able to add the physics for all of that anyway now that the script extensions mod base is out, only for Steam version though.

I really hope someone mods in moon buggies or other vehicles to doss about in.
