Thats hardly a potato!

I call it the "new potato pc" for a reason, because its moving towards potato spec with newer games.

In the underground part of New Atlantis,I am getting 50~70FPS and that is with no upscaling and no variable resolution(apparently).

It could run better, but it seems better than what I have been reading. Also the frametime consistency is pretty reasonable.

Having to just wonder aimlessly around looking for places that buy/sell stuff is so annoying. Hostiles are not dropping the ammo I need. Would it kill them to add a minimap?

It was fine in older games but as locations get bigger, it's just a PITA.

My ship randomly gets cluttered with this garbage... I swear my crew mates are bringing this crap onboard. I can go to the shipping services kiosk and sell it all but then it randomly comes back!
This isn't a bug, it's a 'feature' :D

The default ships have a certain amount of cosmetic 'clutter' but these are still items that can be picked up and used. When you edit your ship's layout the game puts all this clutter into storage - I guess Starfield doesn't have a system to re-distribute these items across your new ship layout.

Didn't expect Steam reviews to be this positive!

I did! :D

I'd expect more negative reviews to surface, just as I'd expect more positive reviews to surface but it looks like the 87 on Metacritic and 88 on OpenCritic will likely stand so irrespective of whether you or I like the game, clearly the majority of critics (for what that's worth) like it.

I'm interested to see where it sits on Steam once people can post their reviews - I'm expecting a 'Very Positive'.

My prediction was that it would be Mixed to start with and rise over the first few weeks to Positive, however I forgot that you could refund the game up until release no matter how many hours played, so my prediction that lots of negative people would put negative reviews up didnt surface, as many refunded at the last minute to get their dosh back and then werent able to put up reviews of course. So its now doing the opposite to what I thought, its started at Very Positive and is slowly creeping downwards towards Positive. Its at 80% now , which I think is 1% above Mostly Positive so looks good to end up at around the 75-83% area after a couple of weeks

86%

I just don’t understand the decision to not have a minimap, especially in the big cities. Even one that has fog of war and only unlocks once you’ve been to a location would be fine.

No, the Steam page lags behind, for example if you look at the Steam page it says 86% from 12,900 or so reviews, however if you actually click on the reviews and look at the total reviews it says that there have been 22,000 reviews (18,000 positive, 4000 negative) . The main steam page lags behind, if you look at the SteamDB page you get a more up to date figure

https://steamdb.info/app/1716740/charts/ - 80% - top right corner

Steamdb's math looks a little muddled no? Is it 80% or 82.5%?

Also, the Steam % uses "only reviews written by customers that purchased the game directly from Steam".

Beats me, point is, its not 86% because the main steam page lags behind. It will catch up eventually

See the actual total number of reviews on Steam, doesnt match the "current" total for the percentage. Its a steam thing, does it on all games

I got a couple of questions.

How are you guys unlocking more than 60fps? Mine seems to be locked at 60 (PC)

How do you repair your ship? The thing says press 0 yet when I press that nothing happens, you just need ship parts to repair or am I missing something?

This, im hoping it comes in an update soon! Having to rely on memory is so darn tiring lol.

Yeah, see my update - it's 'cause Steam ignores review from people that haven't purchased the game on Steam for calculating the %.

Which simply highlights my point that its not 86%, you can see clearly in the screenshot that its a total of 22,010 reviews, 18,108 positive and 3,902 negative. Which works out as 82.27% positive. Not 86%. So really, we should go by the actual mathematical percentage rather than the displayed percentage on games I guess. I mean, if I like or dislike a game then my thoughts on that are no more/less important in terms of percentage calculation whether I bought the game on Cdkeys or not. I'm still writing a review, so its in the reviews sections on games, so when calculating the percentage positive/negative of the reviews it should be included.

It's annoying that basic actions like using the booster pack on your back are locked behind perks you need to enable. Even using targeting missiles on your ship and other stuff are perked. Was wondering all this time why I could not boost my way around on the moon lol.

Also, I'm now a Freestar ranger after sorting out a negotiation situation on Akila, guess most of my next few hours in the game will be spent doing bounty missions which get me out and about the solar system

No, don't bother with those.
Unless you want to play zero-g physics games with a pile of trash dropped on the floor on a moon then set off a grenade on them :D

I've also noted some new bugs I mean features

And lastly this was cruel, but necessary...
