Only thing I want modded into the game is a ship bay with a moon buggy, perfection then, otherwise games sucking hours away pleasantly.
This won't make a loss I don't think. Majority people seem to like it.
I am also disappointed it did not do more when it comes to the space section or some of the graphics etc. But when it manages to grab you and time flies due to enjoyment, those things stop being much of an issue.
Let's not try and paint it like a complete failure because it did not meet your personal expectations
It’s also a game that gets much much better as it opens up, after a good 10 hours or so. This game will be huge. It’ll also take a lot of criticism because it’s under the spotlight so much.
I’m desperate to play more. Haven’t had this feeling from a game for a long time.
Yeah,
I've been playing as basically the sheriff, doing literally all of the quests from Akila city, some of the quests are huge and really well written - I've legit sat here feeling good or bad over the decisons I've made, people I've killed or let live, it's a very very long time since I got that from a game.
So couple of hours in and I find the "flying" pointless and I've essentially begun just fast travelling between places.
Rest of the game is good though so far.
Can I skip the ship building crap entirely? I have no interest in doing it - Also can you fly between points or do I have to automate the landing etc making the between literal filler?
Am I the only person that when first launched into space, killed a few pirates and then spent the next 10 mins trying to fly to Kreet rather than fast travel?
How long is that? I did not want to start it as I felt like I wanted to do my other quests and explore first.
There are loads of quests there, and some really big ones - some great gear too, I spent like my entire day doing quests there yesterday and it was well worth it.
Most of the random encounters are generated while flying so you miss those fast travelling, but beyond that you can't totally avoid space combat so sooner or later you'll need to upgrade.
Spent 2 hours with it last night. First impressions: decent game hiding but they made some weird options...
Before I even started the game I had to tweak the .ini file twice to support my monitor resolution (3840x1600) as well as my laptops resolution (3840x2400). Fine. No big issue.
Then the game options seem wildly limited. As far as I can tell, there are no brightness/contrast/HDR settings? So my image is super washed out. I'm sure I'lll be able to find a decent ReShade somewhere...
Performance? I put on the ultra-preset but turned Film Grain/Motion Blur off entirely and put shadows on Medium rather than ultra. Playing at 3840x2400 I was able to sit at a stable 45fps. Not great and I'm sure there are some optimised guides to follow to get the most performance whilst keeping visual fiedelty. I've not tried the DLSS3 mod but as much as frame-generation would help I'm not sure how much stock I put in an unofficial release - anyone tried it?
Tried playing with a controller and whilst it played fine, there are too many short press/long press options so I'll think I'll switch to M&KB. Also... is it possible to change weapon without going to the equipment menu?
Played about two and a bit outs last night. Enjoying it. Don't want to go near a Terramorph by the sound of things

By the way, I figured out the 60fps lock.
Basically the same time I installed Starfield AMD also had a new driver update, so did that.
Assumed Starfield had some kind of FPS lock and I couldn't find it, based on the fact the consoles are locked that seemed logical.
Turns out the new AMD driver decided to reset the max FPS limit back to 60 by itself. Obviously if I had played any other game first I may have realised sooner but as went straight into Starfield assumed it was the game.
So no one has come a cross the colony ship yet? You guys are in for a treat with that one
I stopped playing before I got out of the mineshaft lift to fix the blacks problem. Gosh it looked awful. Like playing on a very old monitor in the sunlight. But I have an OLED. Really disappointing there appears to be no HDR implementation too. It could look so great on a game like this.Spent 2 hours with it last night.
