***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

That's what I quite liked about starfield. They've not tried to hide the loading screens. It was very clear you were in transition screens, that didn't take long to complete.

It was interesting to hear him talk around it being a live service game. Hopefully it'll be expansion packs instead of horse armour. :D

I missed the gun for sq42 and now have regrets that I choose not to buy.

I had Squadron 42 with the AMD branded Mustang Omega ship / game package i got with an R9 290 i bought in 2013, i sold it on the grey market a few years ago and regret it, not for Sq42, the ship, its as rare as hens teeth now, how you seen one lately?

It rarer then a proposed release date for SQ42 itself!

I will say this, it seems different now.

After 2021 CR said he wasn't going to set anymore release dates for it, since then they have been silent on it, other than written progress reports in monthly reports.
Last year CR moved himself and his family from LA to Manchester UK (where the game is made, CIG are in Manchester, 700 of them) to "Finnish out SQ42", a few weeks ago it was taken off sale, all they said was it will be put back on sale at a later date with an announcement, in the last monthly report, for the first time ever multiple parts of SQ42 had been marked as "Completed"

Don't think I've ever seen one in-game.

Getting this back on track. I'm really looking forward to Starfield now that they've shown more off. Time will tell if it's a gamepads game, at least for a while at the start. I like owning games I'm going to play more than once.

For sure i will probably buy it, but not right away, i want to see more before dropping what's likely to be about £70.

I like what is see, so far...

Great video.

Lots of things they have missed out in that so called deep dive.

The video was just a enchanced version of the one they did late last year.

We are 3 months away and we dont even know stuff like what the currency in game is and most importantly, if its moddable...

Dont assume just because past bathesda games were moddable that this will be too.. in may not be and a lot of people, even on this thread are interested in this, mainly for the modding side of it.

What about land vehicles? is there any?

When modding your ship, does it affect your handling?

How does the landing on planet work? can you land literally anywhere and walk across the whole planet(if you wanted to)?

Lots of questions...

Take it like the usual Bethesda game: large, arcadish and dumb down as much as possible, plenty of quests, some underdeveloped gameplay loops, etc. Basically a very shallow game (in terms of complex features), with some RPG elements on top - was fun the part with how you need to manage your ship systems in a fight WHEN YOU'RE FIGHTING ENEMIES BASED ON THEIR ARTIFICIAL LEVEL!  ), decent main story and some interesting quests here and there.
Ah, ah the same repetitive voice (curious to see if there are still voices from Oblivion or something) :))

Todd Howard in 2021:

Thankfully, Todd Howard himself has confirmed that Starfield mods will be supported by Bethesda, stating in a November 2021 Reddit AMA: “Our plan [is] to have full mod support like our previous games. Our modding community has been with us for 20 years. We love what they do and hope to see more make a career out of it.”

AKA, if it wasn't for them then our half-finished games would never catch on!

Speaking of that watch earlier, I am glad it is not some pip-boy type thing. When I play Fallout 4 I keep looking for something as good as SkyUI but it seems everyone is attached to that silly pip-boy thing so inventory management in FO4 is poor.

Planned. Not confirmed to be in yet!

Really looking forward to this. Not sure if I'll prefer the space scenario over post apocalyptic, but it should be a good game.
Now this is one thing I wanna add.

If casual gamers like u who don't really follow and play space games gets this game and really enjoys it, it will increase casual players from trying out other space games like star citizen in the future.

This genre is currently a niche at the moment but could change thanks to Starfield

What about all the thousands of free dlc patches they have released and people raving about how nms has made the biggest comeback in history
none of them add anything to the story. There are mods to change damage, add base parts, change your ships, change just aboout everything, but the story itself hasn't really changed since the first couple of updates were released. It's not very good and it certainly isnt the reason people are still playing NMS.
