10GB will always be enough! :p

Jokes aside. With how fast mods are coming out for this game. I wonder what shape it will be in 2-3 years time for my next playthrough.

Will defo need more than 10GB then. Hopefully can make it work on 16?

VRAM use on Neon appears to be up to 10.8GB for just the game alone. that's a near 5GB VRAM use increase over the stock game without texture packs. Still a ways to go before the 24GB available is reached :p

Also, bins are serious business in the Starfield universe...

Lol! :D

How far along are you now captain?

I am level 26 now. Could have been much higher if I just stuck to exploring and bounty hunting. You get loads of xp for destroying ships. I get less xp for a whole quest than I do destroying a single ship.

Work has taken my life over again, so somewhere around 27ish I think. Finished the Ranger quest line, fantastic, moving back into the UC quest line now. I also keep getting distracted. Must be about 30-40 hours played now.

I feel this week I may be stuck on Linnaeus IVb :p

Couple of questions:

Is it worth going to each and every map location? It's a bit frustrating wondering around for an hour and finding "Unexplored biological location" , "Cave" or some such. I'm coming off the back of Death Stranding so not shy of a long shlep but the pay-off needs to be worth it.

How do I obtain research? I've not used benches but when I go to look at weapons upgrades etc I can't do anything as I don't have the research.

So far, it's OK. Navigating the maps is a pain.

Heck no unless you want to spend a lifetime doing so. Not too bad if you’ve taken on a quest to visit one as the rewards are better.

Your ship has a research station, although most is perk locked initially.

The maps get easier the more you use them.

uh so there's Jetpack Alt mode in control bindings. On some jetpacks it allows horizontal boost for way faster travelling

AF isn't set properly in game, in nvidia or amd control panel force AF 16x. You'll need to clear your shader cache folders before playing again

Negative LOD isn't applied when using lower render resolution while using either FSR or DLSS, add the below

StarfieldCustom.ini
[Display]
fMipBiasOffset=-0.5

Good starting points are -0.5 for Quality (67%) and -1.0 for Balance (58%) to kind of match Native

The outpost building is a little glitchy.

Build 3 turrets on the top of some of my structures. Took off and when I returned they have dissapeared, there are also some trees now clipping through some of my structures that were removed on building.

Whats a bit anoying about the turrets is they are still using power and counting towards my build limit even though they are nowhere to be seen.

Hmmm thats annoying, have you tried deleting the building and see if they magically reappear? Not seen this bug yet and i've built a whole bunch of turrets ontop of my hab.

Good to know, something else to tweak tonight after work then.

I did flawless widescreen plugin last night to fix the FOV as suggested by @Nexus18 and it works wonders! Love being able to tweak it on the fly as well. I wasn't sure if i needed to run the program each time i logged into windows though but i think i don't as long as the plugin is installed and enabled right?

Yeah as long as the program is running (you'll see it on the tray in bottom left)

Why is there so many people of African/Chinese decent in Atlantis? Is this the same throughout the game lol
Kind of makes sense I guess, isnt half of the worlds population at the minute Chinese? I guess in another 300 years when this is set, Chinese could be the dominate denomination of humanity. Come to think of it, was Chinese kind of one of the common languages in Firefly, which I guess alludes to their perception of how the future would pan out

Having good fun with this, 55 hours in and level 90, spent pretty much all my time on outposts and ships! no started any side quests or faction missions, something so enjoyable about setting up supply chains and ships coming in and out to move cargo for you! Can earn a lot of XP it seems building.

Wow. That's mad! Maybe I do it once I am done with the side and main quests.

Wow! Im 50 hours in and im only level 24 lol! I've spent a lot of time exploring, ship building and doing side quests.

You must be mainly doing quests then as those seem to give **** all xp. I am around 36 or so hours I think and level 26. I got 2 levels super fast yesterday just on bounty missions.

I am not far of 27. Probably one or two bounty missions would do it. So seems we have similar level to play time.

I may have been way behind you the first few days or week, but it shall be you who is left in the dust at this rate sir!

Well Far Eastern/asain ethnicity isn't surprising considering their population on earth right now! Although based on that, you'd think there would be more Indians in the game as well.

Keef, I wish you would really stop spamming this thread.

I notice all you seem to do is have a go at people who have anything critical to say about the game and you don't add anything of value to the discussion yourself.

I was curious to see if you had posted anything about the actual game in this thread or if it was all just you moaning about others. So I took at look at your posting history in this thread.

Out of your last 200 or so posts in this thread in the last week (!!!) about 50% have been discussing computer hardware and the other 50% is you having a go at others for voicing their negative opinions about Starfield.

I couldn't find a single post out of those 200 or so posts where you actually discussed anything about the actual gameplay, story or your experiences with the game. I would invite others to have a look at Keef's posting history if you don't believe me.

You might not like what I have to say about the game but at least I am discussing the topic at hand and not just having a go at people for having a different opinion to me.

Perhaps you should take your own advice, take a little time out and touch grass for a bit. Or maybe actually play the game you profess to love so much and tell us about your experiences with it.
Pot Kettle MUCH!!!

ALL
you do is spam this thread with clickbait kids moany reviews from youtube and moan about your passive aggressive reluctant gaming experience on here with your shared minority of fans.
You're talking nonsense, all I've done is backed people like me who are actually enjoying it/own it/had it since pre-release/and hardware~driver compatibility.

I even shared actual proof of performance, something you haven't done nor your trolling minority fanboys?
Just because I'm not dropping spoilers respectfully to newer players doesn't mean I need to justify that I like the game more than I have already stated, kid.

All you've done is wait till the shills/clickbait trolls have released their BS moany content and reposted it frantically daily, to which I and others have rightly shut down, cause we have actually owned it since pre-release and know 99.9% of those videos are sensationalized nonsense.
Maybe in future ask them what car/clothes/food to buy, where to get a partner etc? Seems you're VERY reliant on people you don't know on social media/youtube's opinions vs forming your own/believing actual normal people who own it and would rightly send it packing/get a refund if it sucked.

I started a quest involving the crimson raiders, taking the 'good' approach to it all because Sarah is with me and I don't want to 'get in trouble'.
It's ok for her to make sarcastic comments all the time, but if I accidentally shoot someone in the face who isn't an enemy then that's too far.

On one of my other playthrough I'm going to start an Aurora factory I think.

Make sure you take her with you to the factory, can’t wait to hear her response to that!

I forgot to post these before.

The HD Texture pack covering ground/landscape textures seems to have fixed the shimmering water reflections on the ground, now it's all good:

I also really like this shotgun I stole, big magazine, rapid fire, has a buff with an explosive round chance, fairly quick to reload:

And lastly, sandwich eating to a new level lol:
