Or that the future has forgone buggies in favour of just hopping around on alien planets. And cars. Not a single car to be seen. And now i think of it, why do entire planets only have one city? And why do i get lung damage walking near a gas vent in a god damned spacesuit?

Ok probably best to stop picking at this thread

It is all mostly absurd when you really think about it all.

I mean, in 300 years and after colonisation from the whole planet, somehow we have space cowboys and one of the main 3 cities in the known universe is just a load of space western shacks.

Just like before with the profile inspector manual enabling, minimal difference on a 4090.

Whats everyone done to fix the super dark areas where its literally impossible to see anything at all. The blacks are too black.

I've got LUT neutral installed. Any other mods suggested to at least configure that somewhat?

There's no gamma or brightness control so in some areas like under a bridge where there's a big shadow being cast, the area is literally pitch black.
What monitor? OLED here and yet to see an area that's so black that you can't see anything :p

Barely had any time to try this since launch. Is the initial starting ship worth upgrading? Any ships worth buying early on?

There is a ship you can get within about 5 or so hours of normal play which is a very good ship IMO. You can get the lead from the second mission in main campaign and it comes up as a side quest in its own right. IMO worth going for that rather then buying another class A ship, ship name in spoiler if you want to look it up.

You want to look for a ship call Mantis, get the lead from a body in the mission "The Old Neighborhood"

Hmm.

Its VN panel

No way someone made that lmfao!

Have you been playing starfield on it ? if so what kind of performance you getting ?
When I get to New Atlantis, I get usually around 35-40, may dip slightly below that down towards 30 on occasion. Other places I get around 45-55, maybe even 60 at some places. This is using one of them DLSS mods. Gaming at 1080p, settings mostly set to Medium with Shadows on Low, Motion Blur turned off, sharpening to 70, rendering to 65. Some of these settings make very little impact though. I could go to High pre-set and it doesn't feel like I'm suffering that much, although going to Ultra is a very noticeable difference. Running on an R7 2700x, RTX 2070, 16GB DDR4 ram, installed on 256GB Crucial CT256MX100SSD1 (I did just test it on a Samsung 970 Evo that has my W11 installation to see if it helped in any way, and it made little difference, if any).

It's playable, sure but it would be nice to see it run better without having to fork out money for a new GPU and CPU. If that's the case, I'll just leave Starfield for a while and play other stuff.

Completed main story stuff, 36 hours, my Tav was level 37 at the end. I didn't beeline main story alone I did a bunch of the side stuff as well.

I will take a breather, finish up my BG3 run, and see if Cyberpunk 2.0 comes out soon so I can test out the new DLSS 3.5 stuff.

If Cyberpunk 2.0 isn't ready, I may dive back in and focus on doing some of the quest stuff I didn't do first time around, but I don't really want to repeat a lot of the same choices again, so I have some alternative paths to follow along with alternate companion choices.

It's been a good game with some flaws.

Agreed, there’s some really odd things from a logic perspective.

I’m rather hoping that the ground vehicles and space flight side of things will be fleshed out more with a future update, or DLC.
