***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

no i havent, but thx for the tip:)
You're very welcome mate!

FWIW if you missed my earlier post...
DEFINITELY check this out, wether you agree with his love for the game, just stick with the video he unlike literally ANYONE ELSE I've seen review it, REALLY HAS put the time in and has unearthed MANY things people aren't aware you can do in it/story options/paths/stealth/skills, you name it!
Thank me later!

Up to 10 million players now apparently. Impressive.

It's a Bethesda game that was massively hyped, it was always going to get the numbers.

Anyway I'm done with it now, opinion hasn't changed much since I last posted my thoughts on it. An average game with everything taken into account, would put it around a 6/10.

I didn’t realise the backpack, at least the skip backpack works slightly different if you bind an alternate key to jump. For some reason using the alt keybind gives you more forward momentum and less vertical momentum.

I thought it was rubbish when I watched the video, but it does actually work for some reason.

the rewards are screwy, taking a pretty much worthless item as courier pays lots more than taking on half the crimson fleet, or delivering a few drones paid more than taking on an entire land army that pretty much exhausted my entire ammo supply, i checked the entire base after killing the guy with bounty, hardly anything useful, the bounty didnt cover the cost of the ammo by a long shot
Can't say that I have issues with the ammo. Just collect what I can get and is enough. True, I don't go pew pew pew all the time. One pew is enough.

I know you love the banter, but jokes aside wether you dislike matey's opinion in the link I posted above, it might give you some other stuff to do you weren't aware of?

IS it important to have 3 weapons on your ship? Or do you get to a point where 2 powerful ones justifies having a ship without 3 weapons? Or can you buy a 2 weapon ship and add a 3rd? I've yet to bother to test this out/reload a save haha
Entirely up to you - I only have one (3x Particle Turrets) - does equal damage to Shield and Hull and with some skill points, absolutely shreds.

I'm not looking for anything else to do in Starfield at the moment, I've played enough to have a good feel for the game. It would have to be something really revolutionary to change my opinion of it.

I find it's often pot luck wether a vendor has 'ships parts' though, it is annoying going to multiple planets/then doing the 48 hour wait trick to restock IF it's there at all
Make sure you grab the salvage after a space battle - got 60+ ship parts in the cargo hold and I got 'em all for free - gonna have to start selling them soon.

Genuinely, did you look at that vid, I know he bums it hard, but there is so very good info in there to enlighten quests most people wouldn't of even realized go 'that deep' or were a thing, along with highlighting things like the stealth meter/takedowns thing, I hadn't even heard of this nor seen anyone else mention it for example?

My ship seems to just explode very easily haha, I'm being very careful and going the long way round to avoid battles at the moment, but I did gloss over the option to get the free 2 ships early on so might do that, I've just been kaining the main story and collecting all the temples tbh haha! But I'm very keen to look into the side stuff, just genuinely liked the flow of the story tbh.

Doesn't sound like anything that would make the game much better. Stealthing around dead AI that is easy to take out anyway and doing even more, go here, load screen, speak to this person quests?

I found I had to up my damage pretty quickly and pretty hard to avoid getting wiped out - my shield is around 990-ish I think at lvl 40 but I rely more on mauling the enemy fast enough to not get into trouble than tanking their damage.

Yeah fair enough I get that, just didn't know it even had that option to play it that way, myself?

Did you watch it all the way through? Was more the variety of quests/who you can work for/what it ends up like, that I meant, i.e. like they're own independent main stories/like a main plot in themselves? The one that goes on about talking your way into conning some company etc for greed and to rip off a product or whatever was quite intriguing for example?

Yeah, doesn't sound all that intriguing to me and certainly wouldn't change the game fundamentally. It's nice there's some extra stuff for people to explore but overall it's just an average experience (imho).
