***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

I found I had to up my damage pretty quickly and pretty hard to avoid getting wiped out - my shield is around 990-ish I think at lvl 40 but I rely more on mauling the enemy fast enough to not get into trouble than tanking their damage.
Haha I'm only at level 18, leave the room when you laugh, I did have to smash through Control/Alan Wake/both Control DLC's mid playing Starfield though, then restart it  :p :D After seeing that badass AW2 trailer (despite not liking 1 very much) so don't judge me too hard haha!

It does blow my mind how stable this has been (for me anyway) even with mods, and I'm not really a RPG guy that much, maybe that's why I like it, don't get me wrong I loved Fallout 3/4, NV was a let down, hated Skyrim but was late to playing all 3 (like in the last 3 years finally did them all) But there is something about this.

Looking forward to Phantom Pain though :) It's nice having 2 massive games come out close together after only finishing building my rig back in late july. Makes the cost worth it the more hours played imho! Although I do love smashing through a good but short SP game!

I'm a cheap date I guess fml ;)

Yeah, doesn't sound all that intriguing to me and certainly wouldn't change the game fundamentally. It's nice there's some extra stuff for people to explore but overall it's just an average experience (imho).
Yeah that's fair enough mate, I can respect that, it is what it is, see my reply above this, I think maybe it's because I'm less of an RPG guy (well to Beth stuff) and have only recently in last few years done all the fallouts etc...

But then I do love space, so this is kinda right up my street, but then it could EASILY be a non rpg 20 hour SP fps and I'd love it just for that if it had some tasty cutscenes vs rpg dialogue choice screens, and I'd enjoy it.

Either way I'm happy whilst I'm enjoying it, but there IS a lot of repetition, the temples for example, and those planets, takes seconds and very sparse... But for the good/fun I'm having when I am enjoying it, I'm grateful it's there. In no way is it the be all and end all, but I'll def take it as some variety over the churned out remakes/typical short games we're flooded with? Know what I mean?

I feel the same. It's not perfect/the best game ever, but it scratches an itch and there is fun to be had in it.

Yeah, it came at the right time didn't it, I think in any shape or form, be it a short SP non rpg, it'd still have been good if they took the best bits, but the fact it has that nice fallout style variety/carve your own path and can feel linear or complex depending on your chosen appetite, I like that :)

Would be interesting to know the platform break down of that, how many bought on Steam and how many playing via Gamepass. I'm guessing something like an 80/20 split for Gamepass
Well I count for two of those sales! Subbed back to GP and bought the premium pack to get early access. Then Overclockers dropped the price of the Sapphire 7900xt and i caved so got another copy for steam (i know I could maybe sell it but with all the verification steps etc it was more hassle than it’s worth to me for the sake of 30 quid, plus i have a back up in case i want to mod one or cancel GP).

There's a setting that will auto switch between keyboard and controller but I've found it a bit buggy and have been 'stuck' in keyboard mode when using a controller before (it was fine after restarting the game).
Alt Tabbing out and in the game seems to work sometimes but it was flawless before.

Other than that it games running perfectly no nudist or flying person. I have found the shepherds shop puddle glitch which I am exploiting :D

You're very welcome mate!

FWIW if you missed my earlier post...
DEFINITELY check this out, wether you agree with his love for the game, just stick with the video he unlike literally ANYONE ELSE I've seen review it, REALLY HAS put the time in and has unearthed MANY things people aren't aware you can do in it/story options/paths/stealth/skills, you name it!
Thank me later!
Well that mantis armour tip is very annoying

I am still using that for like the last 30+ hours. That is another thing they got wrong in this game. I never find stuff that is better than I already have. Been like this almost the whole game it feels.

One thing I enjoy in such games is finding stuff that is better. This game fails at that from what I have seen unless I am missing something?

I think you've just been unlucky or you are misreading gear stats. Epic/legendary gear just means it has more extra buffs. Refined/Advanced etc rates the stats the gear has and is level based
