Yeh those reviews are clearly off. Exactly the reason I don't tend to trust online reviews for games and instead wait until the general public have played. Starfield isn't close to being perfect.

That said, I'm finding it alright. Far from the best game I've played, but enjoying it enough to continue with it. Lots of content I've nit began to explore yet such as all the crafting and ship building.

Had a huge Crimson Fleet ship land nearby, and I thought that'd make a nice addition to my fleet. Took out all the pirates and tried to fly it off only to find my pilot skill was too low. DOH!

What's really strange is the ship took off again after I left it, when there were no crew on board!

Autopilot obv.

Wonder if they'll patch in a 'hardcore' mode like in Fallout where ammo has weight etc.

It's doing something right despite its shortcomings. My biggest beef is the amount of repeated content - the exact same bases turning up on different planets with the same enemies, even when used for side missions.

Yeah I mentioned that a while back. Lots of things like that which let this game down unfortunately. That's why even though I am having fun I can't give the game more than an 8/10. They needed to do better imo.

Where's the best area to go to destroy ships? I'm trying to rank up my pilot skill, but need 30+ kills to do so.

StarUI mod for your inventory is a godsend and saves a lot of time! Anyone not using it should check it out!

Oh and anyone wanting to see a fair few decent mods in a short video with before/afters...

Another beef is that to find out what ails you you have to go to the status page, but there's no button on that page to use a cure you have from your inventory. You have to quit the page and go trawling though your aid items to find the one that specifically fixes the ailment.
The fallout games allowed you to fix broken limbs on the status page, if you had the stims.
