***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Edit - on a side note, I haven't played fallout 4 yet. Is it worth playing with mods now, or waiting for the next gen upgrade? I'm thinking it'll probably run better and look better pre upgrade...

Fallout 4 ***** all over Starfield a thousand times, and then some.

Also so many mods that are very easy to setup and install through Nexus.

Jesus christ this mission with the shifting between states is so bloody long.

Also lol, Fallout 4, worst Fallout I played, only one I never even came close to finishing.

Yeah, 'Entangled' goes on a bit - by the time I got to the end I was proper done with it (although that last room is pretty cool) - I think they could have trimmed it down a bit and made it much tighter - still - nice they tried something different and it's a classic sci-fi trope - creepy too!

That was the mission where I used the
animate dead
power - made it a bit more interesting ;)

Well - you *had* a peaceful option :D - haven't done that battle yet - quite looking forward to it when I do a replay or NG+.

easy enough to get the peaceful option, but this time around wanted to take them both on, my brekie was on and had to run out as smelt burning, a quick turn it off  and back to it as goes on for a bit.
make sure you stock up;)

This power has helped me out a lot where I was getting overwhelmed with enemies
the one that makes them drop their weapons, doesn't work on Starborn though
thats a good power and funny, but when you get to revelation as you say it wont work with them as a good few of them, i have my 3 favourites for that, which the i use all the time

I built a new class B ship from scratch, turrets for when I'm outnumbered then EM for boarding, which is a lot of fun, plenty of stuff to loot. Made a tea while my ship repaired on the way back to Deimos and when I got back all hell was breaking loose, was about 50 ships taking down pirates I think, was a bit worried coz I was my a newly acquired pirate ship but all good :)

I'm probably gonna get shielded cargo unless Sarah frowns upon dealing with contraband.

I accidently got all the way to New Atlantis without being scanned and realised I was carrying some, haven't worked out the mechanics yet so dropped it outside the UC shop, its still there days later, pretty trustworthy place :)

The targeting skill/goals is strange as you need to destroy N ships while targeting to level up, but I thought that targeting was more for EM and taking out drives etc? With my guns switched on most ships don't last long enough for me to target them.

I'm about 17 hours in now and just been doing various quests and scanning planets. I've got to the point where my ship is full, I'm encumbered and my companion is full too. I've sold everything I'm not using so all I have left are resources. I feel like the game hasn't really explained much to help me with how to deal with them.

What's the point of resources? Should I keep them all or sell them?

How can I add more storage to my ship? I can't afford a new one with more storage and can't figure out how to attach additional storage to my ship.

Outposts, assume I can maybe store something there but no information on how or where best to do it.

I've just been made UC citizen and got told to speak to someone about a house. Can buy one for 30k but no idea what the actual point is. Don't I have a room at the constellation building anyway?

Take all your resources on yourself, even if you be very encumbered, before you about to land at New Atlantis, pick The Lodge (you end up just outside it) then go in and in the basement where all the workshop machines are, there is a small box on the table, it has limitless storage and then just dump everything in there. I mostly just have resources there but also some weapons and space suits that I use to just upgrade to get skills up. In your bedroom, you have another (I think) limitless safe, and there you can store weapons and other stuff if you so wish.

Is this storage accessible from everywhere or only in that room?

In that room I believe. However, all the workbenches are there so it’s just a good spot to return to anyway to mod your kit.

I’ll admit though, I use the zero weight mod via WeMod instead.

I’m just whizzing through quick NG+ games before returning to do all the main and sub missions once I’ve finished NG+.

As HRL said, only in that room. And for some reason Bethesda did not link that chest with the workbenches (as it is in the ship) so if using the workbenches in the basement you have to remove all the resources and have them on you. Luckily they so close together so don't really matter, you just get the same comment from the companion if they with you down there, which they always say when you carrying to much ! :p

Ok thanks, seems a little irritating. Not looked into outposts yet but assume I need to cart the resources to whatever planet I want to build one on? Need to look at shipbuilding too. Would be nice if there was little bit of help in game.

I just started looking into outposts and randomly got 7 out of 8 planet resources where I happened to be standing so plonked an outpost down.

NG+ so thought I best start looking at them tbh.
