***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

On a slightly more cheerful note, the latest patch also seems to have added content. I'm getting new random encounters, and there's a couple new sites (like a small bunker). There's also now a different crashed ship, with the added difference of not being flagged as such, but with a standard PoI marker (can't remember which one though). Only when you get close enough to trigger the marker does the description change. This one has at least one corpse and a makeshift awning.

How so, entirely optional and has no detrimental effect on anything. I don't care about them either but that's a bit dramatic.
ah too many reasons to go into, but how they were implemented in what i think was the xbox360 started off a bad path and i dislike where we are today with games and achievements, in particular with ones that are not within the game but a seperate xbox achievement that your friends can see.

Ah yeah sounds more like a console problem.
Did you get embarrassed because you did a naughty one and your friends saw?

I see Star Citizen's latest video took some shots :o

The entire 20 minute video is basically "here's what Star Citizen can do" with the captions directly aimed at Starfield - It's pretty blatantly obvious lol that you don't need to be a rocket scientist. And I don't really even like Star Citizen that much for reasons so credit where due, Todd Howard made up lies on the record, and all rinsing is well deserved. Even this very week Bethesda are making up excuses to counter the new "mixed reviews" status on Steam.

They just can't admit that they released crap and tried to convince everyone otherwise but now it's slowly dawning on people.

Amazing that was your takeaway from it, I mean they aren't even in competition lol. Confirmation bias extremus.
Also that cringe customer service responses on Steam has been going on for a month, just some very slow outlets (lol Eurogamer) just picked up on it. Hey at least you didn't buy it on launch though right and then hate it and hold a really obvious grudge.

This completely embarrassing

My favourite:

This latter post also tries to defend the game's NPCs against the accusation of being "dead-eyed" and "boring", arguing that "to keep Starfield as dynamic as possible, NPCs are not fully scripted so weirdness can ensue sometimes. The goal is to make believable characters on the screen with realistic reactions to your character."

Are they having a laugh? You can run around like a lunatic firing guns and rockets everywhere in the middle of New Atlantis and aim your gun in everyone's faces, and no one does anything. It's one of the least immersive games in terms of NPC interaction that we have had for a while.

Or they smoking something new and interesting ?? :p

From that article you posted though I saw this one. Seems we might be able to build our own space station one day ?? Probably though a paid DLC since it is Bethesda after all ! :p

I don't even care about building ship. Let alone space stations. That stuff would add value to me and be fun if the core game world was better.

Since I put in 80 hours or whatever it was and did all the main and faction missions, the game just doesn't call me back. This is because they did a poor job of space and exploring.

They should have done it like freelancer imo. An improved freelancer would have been awesome. They just got it wrong and won't admit it.

What I don't get is, the complaints are all following a theme on certain areas. So that means they never identified this internally, or they did but thought **** it lets just release as is. Neither situation is good.

Once they commited in a direction (the wrong one) it was too late. They spent too long and too much money for what we got as it is. Imagine once they identified it was wrong a year or two before starting again.

Todd seems too pig headed to admit he got it wrong anyway.
