Crazy how much the queue has got bumped. What model did you go for? I'm guessing it was a less popular model (256gb myself)

yes 64gb as i was unsure if i wanted it but with no game release for the switch that im interested in other than BOTW 2 and bayonetta 3. I thought id get one and then sell my switch

I ended up passing on my steam deck when i got the email, was a nice idea but i wont use it tbh. More of a gimmick for me and since im not really a "early adoptor" anymore since i was so far behind the que its not like its nice shiny new day1 tech, so Meh.
Got mine yesterday, well impressed. Nice layout and screen and pretty easy to use interface. Sometimes a bit of faff needed for some games, but mostly that comes from desktop mode and using the virtual keyboard. Took advice from this thread and got heroic installed, rocket league works flawlessly. My kids are jealous!
Interesting read in a little book they made for the East Asian region. They are making a general installer for SteamOS that it will run on all desktop PCs. And they also boldly claim that some games run better on SteamOS + Proton than they do on Windows.
That will be pretty cool if it comes already set up with things like RTSS and the in-built frame limiter.

That has already been the case for Elden Ring due to precompiled shaders on SteamOS
