*** The Official Steam Deck Thread ***

While I am not knocking the deck at all as I have one myself on the way. You should both really look at cloud gaming if electricity cost and playing at home is your main concern
I'm not keen on cloud gaming due to latency.

Besides, I just need an excuse to get the Steam Deck given the huge cost of living rises! :D

Mines with GLS too, "left the parcel centre" in The Netherlands on 26/08 at 22:35.

Customs, airport, some dude's house awaiting sale on eBay? Who knows. :D

Had mine a few days now. Hard to put down. Got heroic installed and now origin. Games seem to work fine when using the separate launchers, but I need to figure out how to use games with cross launchers. I'm not a Linux user, so struggling with Jedi fallen order. I got it from epic, but it runs via origin. It's installed and shows in origin, but heroic doesn't display it (current limitation with heroic). I just need the exe to somehow recognise it's linked to epic and then launch. Any expert advice out there?

Can you install non steam games on there? I've got cyberpunk on GOG Galaxy and a few games on Epic store.
Yep, heroic app can do both GOG and Epic games. Easy enough to set up. The only issue with heroic is it can only install games linked directly to gog or epic store. Hence my issue above, bough Jedi on epic, but won't show in heroic launcher. Think I can use lutris but sounds a bit faffy

I don't understand if you bought it through epic isn't it linked to epic?

Gone through the thread and it seems there isn't a highly recommend tempered glass screen for the Deck.

Did look at Orzly as that's the one I have for my Switch OLED but they don't make ones for the Deck

It's a limitation with heroic launcher. My understanding is - there's currently no native epic game store installer for steam os, so you need to either use lutris or heroic. Heroic is pretty good, but it's limitation is it only works with epic games that are native to epic. So star wars games that require origin won't show in the library. You can obviously install origin and install the games that way, but they won't run as the executable is looking for epic to then launch in order to run the game. I believe heroic may have a solution for this in a later release. Hope that makes sense
