*** The Official Steam Deck Thread ***

Linus was flashing one the other day so I expect a video from him.

He has been all over this form factor for a number of years now.

I saw that, on the Wan Show. Interesting that he is embargo to even comment on the feel and weight of the unit, despite him having commented on a pre-production model. It can't have changed that much since then surely?

seems like the hardware is up to the task. I find it interesting that the software side isn't ready yet, specially after the delay. But so far I'm still pretty excited

Software is never ready, its about time AI took over their jobs and actually manage to draw a line as closed under something :)

Still undecided on this, I like the form factor, but I don't think it'll do anything any different than the GPD tech I already have. Shame it was so late to the party, it's about half the price of the GPD Win!

Looks great. For me, the ability to use as a mini LAN pc is amazing.

This is almost the same reason I pre ordered. I travel a lot for work and having this in the laptop bag with a dongle and HDMI I can plug into hotel TV's and play with an xbox controller would be ideal.

I was disappointed to see the battery's glued in there but at least (in my experience with the Index) Valve's hardware support is pretty darn good - I'd imagine when the battery does die in your Deck, Valve will have something in place to service them.

Meh. If you really want to run Fortnite on the Steam Deck you can always install Windows.
Exactly. No big deal.

Personally could not give a crap about Fornite or Epic. Only thing of theirs that I like is Unreal Engine. Also what they recently did with the Matrix was cool.

I’ll be putting windows and Game pass on it immediately so the only thing I care about is having good drivers.
