I always lose at SC unless I'm against a complete noob (or AI)

Anyone got tips for strategies or something? I'm useless.

Get a basic economy up (3-4 mass extractors and power generators), then a land factory. Perhaps build a few T1 defenses in case of an early rush. Scout and get a few engineers out claiming mass deposits and building radar while the commander patrols the main base. If you're aggressive and take territory quickly in the early game, the AI will get starved of resources and unable to attack.

Thats assuming standard resources and a medium-sized land map.

ok, so I login, auto patcher does it thing (again) now the game crashes as soon as it gets past that 1st logo

ideas? no mods installed.

Patch 1.1.3260 is out, mostly airforce tweaks with a new T2 air unit per side.

Anyone got any advice - trying to get my son and I to play multiplayer together. Whenever we start a game against two computer opponents, we get a desync and the game hangs?

Any ideas?

Been told by a staff member of GPG that my account situation is hopeless as i'd need a new CD Key to play online and im not buying another copy of the game.

Thats not true.

If you can prove you legally own a copy of the game. (i.e you have the game + manual and you have a receipt from the shop) then they will have to give you a new key.

At the least they should cancel the other account pending further notice.

couldnt you take it back to the shop?
Surely they operate something liek valve like where if the key is in use you just take a photo and submit the evidence to them
